Sightseeing tour of Vyshny Volochok with a visit to the Kazan Convent.
Vyshny Volochek is a county town that resembles St. Petersburg in the perspective of avenues and main streets, aligned as if according to a ruler, as well as a solid facade. The city is famous for the Vyshnevolotsk water system during the reign of Peter the Great, which opened transit traffic between Tsna and Tvertsa and thus between Moscow and St. Petersburg with the help of a chain of canals, locks and reservoirs. The city has served as a stop between the capitals for centuries, and it's not for nothing that Alexander Radishchev dedicated an entire chapter to Volochok, "Travels from St. Petersburg to Moscow."
One of the main attractions of the city visited during the tour is the Kazan Convent, where the miraculous appearance of the Kazan Icon of the Mother of God took place in the middle of the XVIII century.
