Sightseeing tour of Vyshny Volochok with a visit to the Kazan convent.
Vyshny Volochyok is a county town that resembles St. Petersburg in the perspective of avenues and main streets, aligned as if according to a ruler, as well as a solid facade building. The city is famous for the Vyshnevolotsk water system of the reign of Peter I, which, with the help of a chain of canals, locks and reservoirs, opened transit traffic between Tsna and Tvertsa and thus between Moscow and St. Petersburg. The city has served as a stop between the capitals for centuries, no wonder Alexander Radishchev dedicated an entire chapter to Volochok "Travels from St. Petersburg to Moscow".
One of the main attractions of the city visited during the tour is the Kazan Convent, where in the middle of the XVIII century there was a miraculous appearance of the Kazan Icon of the Mother of God.
