Itinerary

Day 1 - Like nomads
07:00 – 16:00 Arrival of tourists, meeting at the airport or bus station of the cityKyzyl, transfer to the Biy-Khem yurt complex.
Accommodation in felt yurts.
In the camp, you can feel like a real nomad, with the only difference that all the amenities that a city dweller is used to are provided here.
The yurt complex is located 22 kilometers from Kyzyl, from there travelers will make trips to different parts of Tuva.
The valley in which the complex is located is named after the river flowing in it – Biy-Khem, which means "Big Yenisei".
There will be free time after arrival at the camp and accommodation.
If desired, you can climb the mountain and admire the entire valley.
And in the evening, after dinner, the group will be able to gather around the campfire.
Meals: breakfast, lunch and dinner in the yurt complex.

Day 2 - Getting to know shamans
After breakfast, an excursion to Kyzyl, the capital of Tuva.
Visit to the geographical center of Asia.
This is the main symbol of Kyzyl, the most famous landmark of the city.
After that, a visit to a Buddhist monastery, where you can meet with a real lama.
Tuva combines many cultures, one of the most attractive is shamanism.
Departure to the Dungur mineral spring, where an introductory lecture on shamanism will be held.
Upon returning to the camp, the group will have a dinner with dishes of Tuvan national cuisine.
The main products of the Tuvans for many centuries were milk and meat, livestock products.
Koumiss is very popular – fermented mare's milk, sogage – liver fried on coals.
And no meal is complete without tea with milk. Tea is necessarily green and it is brewed with the addition of salt.
After dinner, a performance by performers of traditional Tuvan throat singing – "khoomey".
This is a special style of singing, which is mastered by the Tuvinians and some other peoples of Siberia.
This is throat singing, the ability to make several sounds of different heights at once and hold them for up to 30 seconds.
If you don't see the performer, it's hard to imagine that the sounds are made by a person, not a musical instrument.

Day 3 - Dear nomads
Breakfast, after which the group will head west to the arjaan "Shivilig" mineral spring.
Arjaan means "holy water, mineral water, healing spring".
Meeting with the shaman who will accompany the group further.
Before lunch, stop at the breathtaking Khayyrakan Mountain, this is one of the holiest and most revered places in Tuva.
In 1992, it was chosen as an energetically strong place and consecrated by the Dalai Lama XIV.
At least once a year, local shamans come here to recharge, strengthen and purify the spirit. Why don't you take advantage of this opportunity?
Lunch is a picnic.
Arrival in the town of Chindozyn, organization of a tent city.
Meals: breakfast in the yurt complex, lunch lunch box, dinner at the campfire.

Day 4 - Kamlanie
Departure to the mineral spring "Shivilig", visit the spring, then together with the guide the group goes on a hike to the next mineral spring Churek-arzhan.
This is a weakly radioactive source, where the water temperature ranges from 0 to 9 ° C, the radon content corresponds to the lower limit for medicinal waters of this type.
While visiting the springs, tourists will learn about their medicinal properties and methods of treatment at the springs.
Return to the camp, lunch.
Participation in the preparation for the rite of kamlaniya.
The ceremony is usually performed at night or for several nights.
Another option is in a yurt with a lighted hearth, or in a sacred place in the presence of many people.
To the sound of a tambourine, the shaman emits screams, imitating the cries of a crow or a cuckoo. These birds give the shaman the ability to compose songs. Then the shaman sits with his back to the fire or to those present, quietly and steadily knocks on the tambourine and conducts a conversation with his erens.
As a result of communication, the shaman either exorcises evil spirits or says that the situation is hopeless.
In any case, he makes offerings to the spirit helpers.
To do this, with a special spatula, he sprinkles milk on the four cardinal directions and burns pieces of meat and bread in the fire. Then the food is tasted by those present.
The shaman's rite of worship is associated with the achievement of two goals: healing rites and cult rites.
It can be a cult of fire, mountains, sacred trees, individual ancestral patrons.
In all cases, the ritual takes place approximately according to the same scheme: purification – summoning the appropriate spirits – searching for the cause of the disease or cult consecration – expelling hostile spirits – divination about the outcome of the ritual and the fate of those present – the departure of the shaman.

Day 5 - Secrets of shamanism
Today, the shaman will hold a seminar on the attributes of shamanic clothing.
After lunch, a little rest and walks in the fresh air.
Later in the evening, the shaman will reveal the secrets and methods of fortune-telling on the stones.
Ritual rituals are performed mainly for the purpose of healing people, less often in connection with failures, livestock deaths, fortune telling, etc.
Shamans are very practical people, and they will not speak abstractly, without a specific purpose, and once again disturb the spirits.
After the ceremony, it is possible to attend individual receptions (for an additional fee).

Day 6 - Buddhism
Breakfast, group gathering and departure towards Kyzyl.
On the way, tourists will see the center of Buddhist culture, a restored monastery Ustuu-Khure.
The temple became the crowning achievement of Buddhist construction in Tuva.
There was no such thing not only in Tuva, but also on the territory of the entire former Soviet Union.
In the evening, arrival at the Biy-Khem yurt complex.
After dinner, you can see a real Tuvan tea ceremony.
During the ceremony, you will hear a story about the methods of making and brewing Tuvan national tea with milk and salt, learn about the history of tea in Tuva, tea legends and parables.

Day 7 - Shamanic Clinic
Immediately after breakfast, the group will leave for Kyzyl.

Walking around the city, visiting souvenir shops.
Lunch at the restaurant.
After lunch, you will visit the National Museum of Tuva, where exhibits from the Arzhaan-2 mound are kept, including jewelry of the legendary Gold of the Scythians.
The Scythian Gold tour is dedicated to the famous Arzhan II mound, which was excavated in 2000-2003 by Hermitage specialists in cooperation with the German Archaeological Institute.
The treasures found in the mound (more than 20 kg of gold products in total) have become a real sensation in the archaeological world.
In the evening, arrival at the yurt complex, rest.
An evening bonfire and a farewell rite of worship.

Day 8 - Departure
From 06:00 to 12:00 transfer to the airport or bus station.

The tour provides 2-bed accommodation in a yurt complex and in a tent camp.

The surcharge for single occupancy is 8,500 rubles (possible only in the Biy-Khem yurt complex, 4 nights).

The yurt complex is a yurt camp built here specifically for the reception of tourists.

The yurts are very real, life-size, felt, the low door, as it should be, faces east, the floor is also covered with felt. They are furnished for one or two people.

The yurt is spacious and cozy. The furniture consists of wooden beds, a small wardrobe, a bedside table, a stand for a suitcase. There is a washbasin and a tulip sink by the door. The rest of the amenities – a stationary toilet and showers with hot water - are located in a separate large yurt.

Accommodation of tourists on tour in double yurts.

At the time of departure of tourists on radial routes for 2-3 days, involving overnight stays outside the yurt complex, tourists need to check out of the yurt, hand over excess luggage to the luggage room, taking with them the most necessary things on the trip, valuables.

Upon arrival back to the yurt complex, tourists move into free yurts.

Railway connection

There is no railway connection in Tuva!

The nearest railway station is the city of Abakan, the capital of the Republic of Khakassia (400 km north of Kyzyl). In turn, you can arrive in Abakan by train from Krasnoyarsk (No. 124 daily) or from Moscow via Yaroslavl, Yekaterinburg, Omsk, Novosibirsk (No. 068).

Motor transport

There are 2 highways of federal significance in the republic connecting Kyzyl and Abakan, Kyzyl-Ak-Dovurak-Abakan, which can be reached by regular buses and minibuses from Krasnoyarsk and Abakan. The distance from Abakan to Kyzyl is 400 km.

The road will pass through the picturesque passes of the Western Sayan Mountains.

You will be provided with three hot meals a day throughout the tour.

In yurt complexes, hot meals will be offered at picnics, short picnics and dry rations during the crossings. Tea and water are included in the price.

During their stay in tents, tourists will be provided with three burning meals a day, which the cook cooks over a campfire. Dry rations are provided for hiking trips.

Alcoholic beverages are not included in the price.

We also take into account, if possible, the wishes of dieters and vegetarians.

To do this, you need to inform the manager at the time of booking.

If you have not specified any special dietary requirements, you will be provided with standard European meals with elements of national cuisine. Changing the menu during the tour is only possible for an additional fee.

Pancakes, fried and baked pies, dumplings, pickles, vinaigrette, cabbage soup, fruit drinks and much more are considered traditional dishes of Russian cuisine.

Meat and dairy products form the basis of the Tuvans' diet. Essentially, they only eat meat, everything else is an addition to it. Especially popular are dishes that are a combination of meat and flour. These are soup with meat and noodles (uzken bydaa), steamed dumplings (boozy) and ordinary (manchi), belyashi (huuzhuuri), minced meat with dough (tyrtkan), etc.

In addition, on the table of Tuvans you can see milk vodka – araga, which is distilled from sour milk, boorzaki – pieces of dough fried in boiling oil, and tortillas, which are an independent dish, soktaan dalgan (crushed barley). As well as black pudding, green tea with milk, either salt or oil is added to it, sometimes both.

The role of dairy products, as well as meat, is very important in the diet of Tuvans. They have developed various ways of preparing products from milk: cheese (byshtak), butter (sarzhag), cream (oreme), koumiss (khymys), kefir (tarak), curdled milk (khoitpak), dried cottage cheese of a firm (kurut) and crumbly (aarzhi) consistency, etc.
