This unique tour gives a complete picture of the nature and population of Lake Baikal. In 7 days you will travel around two coasts: you will start your journey from the eastern side, get acquainted with the city of Ulan-Ude and its Buddhist shrine – Ivolginsky Datsan. You will cross the deepest point of Lake Baikal and visit the western rocky shore, where you will admire the Chivyrkuy Bay and Cape Khoboy. And the tour will end in Irkutsk, where you will get by ferry, through the Olkhon gate.

The two shores of Lake Baikal are two different worlds. We can say that after visiting them, you will get the most complete and best idea of the whole of Lake Baikal.

Itinerary

  • Day 1 - Arrival in Ulan-Ude. Ivolginsky datsan – the center of Buddhism in Russia, moving to Lake Baikal

    We will meet at the airport in Ulan-Ude at 9:00 (waiting 15 minutes).

    From the airport we go to the Center of Buddhism in Russia – Ivolginsky Datsan.

    We visit the temples of the datsan, usually in the morning there are khurals, which you can attend.

    On request, an independent visit to the temple of Itegilov (incorruptible body).

    After visiting the temple, breakfast at the datsan cafe (payment on site).

    You can try poses, khushurs, etc. Buryat dishes.

    Return to Ulan-Ude, where you will take a short sightseeing tour of the city with a visit and an inspection of the "huge head of Lenin", which is listed in the Guinness Book of Records.

    The monument is located on the Central Square of the Soviets.

    Walking tour of the historical part of the city.

    We have lunch in cafes or restaurants in Ulan-Ude (self-paid).

    After exploring the city, transfer about 4-5 hours to Lake Baikal (accommodation in Maksimikh, Goryachinsk or Turk).

    We are staying at a tourist recreation center.

Travelers traveling to Lake Baikal should take into account its specific features. Take the minimum of things that you will need. You need multifunctional and reliable things. The weather on Lake Baikal is not always sunny and it is quite cool in the evenings, so you need to take warm clothes with you. Do not forget comfortable shoes and a hat.
