Day 1 - Getting to know Izhevsk. An ethnographic program and a gastronomic surprise. M.T. Kalashnikov Museum and Exhibition Complex

Walking and bus sightseeing tour of the city of Izhevsk.
During the tour, you will be told about the history of the emergence and development of the city from the XVIII century to the present, how the city grew from a small village into the capital of the republic.
The main objects are St. Michael's Cathedral, a dam and an artificial lake - Izhevsk Pond, armourers Square, etc.
An ethnographic program about the Udmurts.
Acquaintance with the Udmurt way of life, pagan culture, national architecture and Udmurt customs.
Gastronomic surprise: a treat with national Udmurt dishes – perepechami (a basket of dough with stuffing), tabanami (Udmurt pancakes) with herbal tea. Tasting of the fragrant tincture "posyatem" (warm moonshine with the addition of berries). Udmurt soup or porridge.
Return to Izhevsk.
Excursion to the M.T. Kalashnikov Museum and Exhibition Complex.

The Izhevsk Motorcycles exhibition presents serial models of Izh motorcycles from the 1930s to the 2000s from the funds of the museum and personal collections of motorcyclists of the Izh Izhevsk community. The exhibition is not just a demonstration of a collection of motorcycles, it also gives an idea of life around motorcycles in different historical eras.
For the first time, a new development of the Kalashnikov Concern, the IZH motorcycle of the new generation, was publicly presented at the exhibition in Izhevsk.

Votkinsk was founded in 1757 as a settlement during the construction of the Votkinsk Ironworks. Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky was born here and spent the first 8 years of his life. The composer created a number of his works, experiencing his childhood impressions of the beauty and purity of nature of his native land.
During the tour, you will get acquainted with the history of the city, tell about the contribution of Tchaikovsky's father to the development of the city, inspect historical buildings, including the church where the future composer was baptized, walk along the embankment along the picturesque lake, which became the prototype of the "Swan Lake" in the ballet of the same name.
