Day 1 - Sightseeing tour of Kalyazin. A master class in lace weaving. Animation program "Visiting a fairy tale" at the residence of Baba Yaga Tverskaya

09:00 Departure to Kalyazin.
Kalyazin is an ancient Russian city on the Volga with a complicated history, popularly called the "Tver Atlantis". The city is unique and very distinctive, famous for its flooded bell tower of St. Nicholas Cathedral, towering over the surface of the water.
Sightseeing tour of the city of Kalyazin.
In the program:
Sightseeing of the ensembles of the Vvedenskaya, Bogoyavlenskaya and Voznesenskaya churches, the monument to the founder of Kalyazin — Makariy Kalyazinsky and many other attractions.
Walk along the main city street with access along the cobblestone pavement to the flooded bell tower of St. Nicholas Cathedral.
The interactive program "Drown my sorrows".
A fun game in which everyone, on the threshold of the New Year, can try to get rid of their troubles and troubles in life, to leave them in the outgoing year.
You will write your troubles on a piece of paper, put a note in a clay stone brick with the inscription "Sadness" and drown it in the Volga River.
Demonstration master class on bobbin lace making "Frosty patterns" at the House of Crafts.
By sorting through special wooden sticks and bobbins, the craftsmen create unique patterns of the famous Kalyazinsky lace.
Lunch at a cafe in the city.
The animation program "Visiting a fairy tale" at the residence of Baba Yaga Tverskaya.
Baba Yaga lives in a residence made in the traditional Slavic style, there is also a mill, where all of you will gather at a heroic table made of natural Siberian pine and taste herbal tea with pies from a clockwork old lady.
In the program:
meeting with Baba Yaga and Santa Claus (or the Snow Maiden), a New Year's game program in the animation town with hot herbal tea and fortune-telling pies, fortune-telling from Baba Yaga;
a souvenir from Santa Claus for everyone as a gift;
games, contests, riddles, collective dances from Yagusi Tverskaya;
a photo shoot with fairy-tale characters.
Transfer to the city of Uglich.
Accommodation at the Chaika 3* hotel in Uglich. Rooms of the "standard" category.
Free time in Uglich.
Preparation for the New Year's banquet.
22:00 Festive banquet in the hotel restaurant.

professional presenter and DJ;
festive table with New Year's dishes for every taste;
live broadcast of the President's speech;
Invigorating contests and dancing to rousing hits!;
congratulations from Santa Claus and the Snow Maiden, as well as a fabulous round dance with New Year's wizards.
00:30 After midnight, the festive program continues on site: a New Year's tree and a bright bonfire, a barbecue area with light snacks and alcohol, active contests, songs and dances.

Day 2 - Visit to the "Mouse Palace". New Year's Eve gatherings at the Katskars

Departure to Myshkin.
Myshkin is the smallest city in the Yaroslavl region, ancient, sincere, original, which has preserved the ancient merchant buildings and a special provincial charm. The city was famous for its blacksmiths and potters.
Myshkin owes his origin to a mouse that woke up the sleeping prince at the moment when he was about to be bitten by a snake. According to Russian tradition, the prince built a chapel for the glory of his salvation, around which the city grew.

"To the mice at the old mill" (visit to merchant Chistov's mill, inspection of mill mechanisms with the exhibition "Barn Mice").

The ethnographic exposition "Flax" with the exhibition "My little doll".
A craft house with an active blacksmith shop and pottery workshop.
Myshkin chambers — the atmosphere of royal life. The hospitable king and queen will tell you how heavy the crown is and teach you how to protect yourself from cat attacks. You will be able to put your hand into the royal bins, and in the darkness of the royal menagerie you will see exotic live mice.
Departure to the village of Martynovo.
Martynovo is the "capital" of the ancient Katsky camp. In the far west of the Yaroslavl region, a small, 57 km long Kadka River flows. The inhabitants inhabiting its shores are called katskars. These are Russian people who have their own peculiarities in customs, language and folklore.
Visit to the Katskare museum (a peasant hut of the late 19th century).
The guide will introduce you to local myths and legends, the life and way of life of peasant cossacks of the XIX-XX centuries. Here, all things have been living in their places since 1910, surrounded by Katsky folklore, Katsky myths and the Katsky dialect.
Theatrical and entertainment program in the Katsky dialect.
Treats from the Russian oven (cabbage soup, potatoes with chicken, sour cream, pies, pickles, melted milk/tea).
Return to the hotel.
Dinner at the hotel restaurant.
At dinner, optional, for an additional fee, tasting from the Chaika 3* hotel in Uglich — "Taste Uglich": tastings of cheeses, meat products and mineral water of the Uglich region, served with a glass of wine (for children, a substitute for a soft drink).

Guided tour of the territory of the Uglich Kremlin, the historical and urban core of the city:
Tsarevich Dimitri's Chambers ("chambers of the Uglich appanage princes") is the only building preserved from the foundation of the Kremlin (XV century).
The Church of Dmitry on the Blood, built on the site of the death of Tsarevich Dmitry. Inside are murals by artists from the late 18th century describing this event in detail.
The Transfiguration Cathedral is the cathedral of the city of Uglich.
Visit to the museum of "Urban life" with the animation program "Russian pleasures".
In the program:
a story about the life and everyday life of a provincial city at the end of the XIX – beginning of the XX century, about the establishment of a prosperous house, about the lifestyle, traditions, customs, leisure, fashion of the Uglich people at that time;
tea party in a Teahouse with pies, gingerbread and bagels, where a raunchy Uglich merchant will invite gypsies, the melodies of their songs will sound, and a beautiful gypsy woman will dance rousing dances.

Many thanks to “Big Country” for this wonderful tour. The entire trip was organized exceptionally well: the hotels, meals, and transportation were all excellent. But the real highlight of the journey was our tour guide, Denis!!! Honestly, without him the trip would not have been nearly as memorable. Visiting so many churches and historical sites without meaningful context would have quickly become monotonous. Most of the local guides simply rushed through the program with dry facts and dates, almost like a school lecture. Denis, however, made everything come alive. Even before we arrived at each destination, he was already sharing fascinating stories and background information on the bus, which helped us appreciate the places so much more once we got there. Not a single person was late for the bus in the mornings! Everyone was eager not to miss his stories!!! He has an incredible knowledge of the history and geography of the region, and he could make even the scenery outside the window interesting!!! Listening to him never felt tiring because he spoke with such enthusiasm and passion!!! For the last two days we had a different guide, and the contrast was huge - unfortunately, it just wasn’t engaging at all. To sum it up: excellent organization, comfortable travel conditions, and an outstanding guide like Denis made this trip truly special!!! I only wish there were more professionals like him.

I really enjoyed the trip. I learned a lot more about my country and its history, and visited many historic cities and monasteries. It’s an experience I will remember for a long time.
