Itinerary

Day 1 - Veliky Novgorod. Walking theatrical interactive tour on the territory of the Kremlin
7:06 (Moscow time)/10:36 (St. Petersburg) Estimated time of arrival in Veliky Novgorod. Meeting with the guide at the main entrance to the railway station from the platform. Information about the meeting is posted on the information page the day before.
Transfer to the hotel. Check-out time in hotels is 14:00. Early check-in for an additional fee (book in advance).
Breakfast in the hotel restaurant. For tourists arriving after 10:00 a.m., breakfast is replaced with lunch.
11:00 is the approximate start time of the tour. 3-hour car and walking tour of the winter city.
Yaroslavovo dvorishche and the Ancient auction "Veliky Novgorod – Hanseatic city". Barns and shops were located here, trade was in full swing, and ships of overseas merchants approached the marinas. The oldest building on the territory of Yaroslav's courtyard is St. Nicholas Cathedral (1113).

Day 2 - Vitoslavlitsy. Festive festivities in the fresh air. Lunch in Novgorod style

12:00 p.m. "To the stars of the blue domes." 4-hour auto-guided tour of the surroundings of Veliky Novgorod.
A trip to an active monastery for men, learn about the monks' lives. St. George's Cathedral was built on the territory, this temple was used as the tomb of the Novgorod princes. Alexander Nevsky's mother and brother, Dmitry Shemyaka, and others are buried here.

Day 3 - Excursion to Valdai. Completion of the tour
Breakfast in the hotel restaurant.
Attention! 12:00 check-out time. Room release before departure for excursions (things in the hotel's luggage room for guests departing to Moscow, things on the bus for guests departing to St. Petersburg).
08:00-08:30 Meeting at the hotels of the city. There may be a slight delay in the delivery of the vehicle. In this situation, we recommend that you keep in touch with the guide.
Departure program: departure to Valdai, a small ancient city on the Moscow – Novgorod highway (140 km), a travel tour.

13:40 Excursion with a visit to the Valdai active Iversky Svyatoozersky Bogoroditsky Monastery, located on one of the islands of the picturesque Holy Lake. The richest monastery of its time.
Visiting the monastery allows you to touch the life-giving power of Orthodoxy. We recommend that the ladies bring handkerchiefs to cover their heads.
Free time on the territory of the monastery.
15:30 Departure to V. Novgorod.
17:30 Arrival in Nizhny Novgorod. Transfer to the railway station for tourists departing to Saint Petersburg.

The trip was extremely informative and full of memorable experiences. I visited three different cities and took part in several excellent excursions. I was especially impressed by Veliky Novgorod: Yaroslav’s Court, the Rurikovo Gorodische, the Khutyn Monastery, and of course the Kremlin with St. Sophia Cathedral, the Chamber of Facets, and the Center of Musical Antiquities. Everything was very well organized. I also had the chance to attend a performance by the local drama theater at the Philharmonic Hall, and the actors were absolutely captivating!!! We were also taken by car to the Iversky Monastery, located near the town of Valday. However, I do regret that the itinerary did not include the Valdaysky District Museum. It’s a small museum right in the center of Valday and would have been a great addition to the trip. Since we traveled such a long distance, it would have been nice to see more of the town itself, the program only included the Museum Bell Center. Another highlight was the unforgettable excursion to Staraya Russa. Elena accompanied us by car and shared a wealth of fascinating information along the way. The Dostoevsky Museum left a particularly strong impression on me, thanks in large part to the excellent guide there. Thank you very much for the excellent organization of the tour!
