It's important to know

Personal equipment you need for the tour

Some tips about clothes.

Here it is necessary to adhere to the rule "the more layers, the better", while all clothes should lie on the body freely, not end to end. There should be a layer of air between the layers.

In the most severe frosts, when staying outside for a long time, we usually dress like this:

  • The head is a fur hat or any other warm thick one (on which you can put a hood), a thick or knitted scarf (we wrap it around the neck, while trying to keep the nose and mouth closed). Foreigners usually wear balaclavas, but they are usually thin and do not keep warm.
  • The top is a thin T—shirt, a shirt, a thin sweater/sweatshirt, a spacious thick knitted sweater, a down jacket.
  • The bottom consists of thin underpants, athletic sweatpants made of dense material (in theory, this layer can be replaced with a good thick warm thermal underwear), relatively thick winter trousers.
  • Shoes — thin socks, warm, spacious socks and winter shoes (felt boots / boots / shoes made of animal fur or modern expedition winter boots; it is important to remember that the shoe size should be one or two sizes larger than the actual size in order for there to be air between the socks and shoes; more air means more heat).

In the city itself, it is better not to wear all of these clothes, as you will spend most of your time indoors and in the car. In short, according to the situation. The buildings are very hot. When traveling on the route, they usually sit without a down jacket and even take off their sweaters.

What to take with you:

  • thermos flasks, at least 2 pairs;
  • wool socks;
  • thermal underwear;
  • fleece underwear;
  • Polartec type fleece jumper/sweatshirt (preferably with a high collar);
  • jacket (down jacket/PrimaLoft/ClimaShield);
  • warm pants (down/PrimaLoft/ClimaShield);
  • warm shoes are one or two sizes larger than the actual ones (felt boots, classic boots, Baffin-type boots);
  • scarf;
  • balaclava;
  • a warm hat (if the jacket has a hood, then a thick knitted hat is enough);
  • head lamp;
  • woolen mittens/PrimaLoft/ClimaShield;
  • thin fleece gloves;
  • personal hygiene products;
  • medicines;
  • slippers for overnight stays (preferably warm);
  • one big backpack. A large suitcase or a solid suitcase is not practical;
  • One small backpack;
  • lots of backup batteries for photo/video cameras (batteries run out quickly in the cold);
  • headphones;
  • an external battery (powerbank) for recharging gadgets (in cars, all connectors may be occupied).

Attention! To travel along the Yakutsk — Magadan route, additionally take waterproof warm shoes for Magadan.

For a trip in March, focus on the temperature range -20 ° C ...-45 ° C.
