Day 1 - We are studying Salekhard
08:00 You arrive in Salekhard (the recommended flight is Yamal YC32, departure from Moscow (Domodedovo) at 03:15). We will meet you at the airport.
08:45 On the way from the airport, we stop at the 66th Parallel stele, hold a solemn ceremony of crossing the Arctic Circle with the presentation of personal certificates and take unique photos.
The 66th Parallel stele is a geographical feature of the city, it is located just where the Arctic Circle passes. It was first installed in 1980 in a completely different part of the city, but in 2003 the error was sorted out. Salekhard's geological and geodetic supervision staff was invited to determine the correct line of the Arctic circle. The monument was dismantled and installed near the Airport-Salekhard highway. Now everything is accurate!
09:30 We are going to the hotel "Arctic" 3* in the historical part of the city. Relax after the flight or take a walk. There are many good restaurants near the hotel. We will definitely tell you where you can have a delicious lunch.
14:15-15:45 We begin our acquaintance with a sightseeing tour of Salekhard.
Let's see what:
Obdorsky prison. Let's take a walk through the open-air architectural complex, which repeats the appearance of an ancient fortress.
Victory Park. We will see one of the largest cultural and historical complexes in Russia, and perhaps the only one built in the tundra.
The church in the name of the Holy Apostles Peter and Paul. We will visit the only functioning 19th century temple in the city and the district. This is the world's first stone Orthodox church, built on permafrost in 1894. A difficult fate awaited him, he was partially destroyed, but restored to its former glory in 1998.
An open-air museum of polar aviation and a monument to aviators of the Far North.
The stele "Romantics of the 70s" is a symbol of the development of the North in the 60-70s of the XX century, when Komsomol members from different parts of the Soviet Union came here to explore and raise the northern territories.
The objects of the 501st construction site during the Gulag. Let's take a look at one of the dark pages of our history. Part of the "road to nowhere" took place in Salekhard – the section of the Chum–Salekhard–Igarka railway. We will visit the memorial dedicated to the victims of repression.
16:00-17:00 We go to the I.S. Shemanovsky Museum and Exhibition Complex.
The first and largest museum in Yamal holds a unique exhibit – the remains of the mammoth Lyuba, found in 2007. The permafrost has completely preserved the skin, trunk, all other parts of the body and even the contents of the mammalian stomach. The discovery has become a sensation for the entire scientific world!
In addition, in the museum we will look at unique products made of clay, bone, metal, stone, organic materials (wood, birch bark, leather, etc.), illustrating the daily life of a person in the North from the Mesolithic era (6th millennium BC) to Modern Times (XVI–XIX centuries) and a large ethnographic collection.
And where else can you see the almost complete skeleton of a mammoth and a woolly rhinoceros?
This museum is visited with pleasure by all guests of Yamal, because it is completely different from the usual city museums. That is why we definitely include his visit in our programs.
17:20-18:40 We study the expositions of the Museum of modern history of Yamal.
Yes, it's the second museum in a row. But believe me, you won't regret it. Unusual, multimedia and interactive. We will listen, watch, touch and be surprised. In one of the halls there is a cinema with a large-scale installation of the Yamal territory on the floor. In another, the ancient appearance of Salekhard is recreated with all the attributes and photographs. There are no indifferent people, and even more dissatisfied with this museum, it has been checked!
17:30 We finish the educational program and, tired but satisfied, return to the hotel.
19:00 Free time to discuss impressions, relax and have a delicious dinner at one of the restaurants in the city. We will give you all the appearances and passwords to make the evening a success.

Day 2 - On a visit to Prince Taishin (Gornoknyazevsk village)
09:00 Delicious breakfast at the hotel. A very interesting day awaits us.
10:00 We meet in the lobby of the hotel and go to the natural and ethnographic complex in the village of Gornoknyazevsk (not far away, about 17 km). We will spend the whole day in this open-air museum, created in 2001.
We will get acquainted with the history and way of life of the indigenous peoples of the north, take part in rituals, learn how to make traditional clothes, find out what a warehouse and sleds are, create a souvenir for ourselves at a master class, learn how to collect plague and compete in national sports. At lunch we will try traditional northern dishes and berries. It won't be boring!
10:30 a.m. In the village we will be greeted with a traditional treat – northern berries and stroganina. And then we will go on an ethnographic journey.
11:00 We will learn all about the national clothes of the Northerners: how, what they are made of, and why they are exactly like that. Let's find out what to wear so as not to freeze in the tundra, even in severe frosts.
We will be happy to take part in traditional rituals and be sure to make the most cherished wishes.
We will make our northern souvenir at the master class and compete in national sports.
12:00 It's time for traditional northern cuisine. For lunch we will have fish soup, cheesecakes with berries and Ivan tea.
Then we will ask the owners of the complex about the device of the plague, get acquainted with the peculiarities of life and traditions of the Khants, Nenets and Komi. And the bravest guests will be able to assemble a chum on their own – a traditional dwelling of the indigenous population. As a rule, this is a favorite part of the walk.
17:00 We will say goodbye to the hospitality of the northern residents and return to Salekhard.
17:30 Tired and full of impressions, we return to the hotel.
19:00 Free time to put the impressions of this day in your head and have a delicious dinner in good company. We will definitely give you all the checked places for a great evening.
The transport part of the route is 30 km (minibus/jeep).
The duration of the tour is approximately 6 hours.

Day 3 - Free day
07:00 — 10:00 Breakfast at the hotel.
We do not have a mandatory program for this day, because our guests often ask to give them time to just relax and put all the impressions of the past days in their heads. You can do this: get enough sleep, have breakfast and take a leisurely walk around the city.
Go to the fish shop to buy delicacies for the road, to the Gifts of Yamal market and explore the souvenir shops. We will definitely tell you about the most interesting places and proven shops.
Lunch and dinner are not included in the price on this day, and you can choose a place yourself.
But if your soul asks for more impressions, we suggest you go to a master class in bone carving and take home a souvenir made with your own hands. It's interesting, it's not far and it's not difficult.
You can visit a tea party in the complex of the city estate of merchant Terentyev, where you will learn about merchant life and traditions of the 19th century. Informative, tasty and easy.
If you want to learn more about the 501st GULAG construction site and see everything with your own eyes, as well as the strength for a hiking (in winter - snowshoe) hike, then there is also such an opportunity. This is an active outdoor tour. We do not recommend it for children, but adults may be very interested in touching the story.
Fishermen are offered to go ice fishing on a track (a special SUV that is allowed to drive on the tundra, since due to low tire pressure it does not destroy the surface). A ride on such a car is already an impression in itself.

Day 4 - Departure
Today the North says goodbye to you, but not for long. Because he doesn't let anyone go just like that.
07:00 We have breakfast at the hotel.
07:30 We leave for Salekhard airport (the recommended flight is Yamal airport at 09:10, YC31, arrival in Moscow (Domodedovo) at 10:10).
