Itinerary

  • Day 1 - Getting to know Murmansk

You arrive in the hero city of Murmansk by air or railway transport on your own.

We recommend that you arrive before 13:00 so that you have time to get to the hotel and check in.

Check-in at the hotel according to international standards starts at 14:00. Check-in time at the hotel may be changed/different, in case of postponement of check-in time, things can be left in the luggage room.

A general gathering of the group for lunch and acquaintance.

The meeting time of the group is 2:30 p.m. at the address: 5/23 Five Corners Square, Vorovsky St., Meridian Hotel lobby (the exact time will be indicated by the guide the day before).

We will go to one of the restaurants in the city for lunch, get to know each other and discuss plans for the day (included in the price of the tour).

We are going on a sightseeing tour of the hero city of Murmansk.

The guide will tell you about the origin of the city's name and introduce you to the significant architectural landmarks that make Murmansk unique.

    Main attractions:

The first point of the tour will be the Marine Station, where we will see the famous first nuclear—powered vessel on the planet, the nuclear icebreaker Lenin.

We will make an external inspection of this impressive vessel, and if you have tickets, you will have the opportunity to visit it with an excursion and look inside.

Next, we will head to the memorial to the Sailors who Died in Peacetime, which contains sad pages of history.

This memorial complex includes a tower stylized as a lighthouse, a ship's anchor and part of the deckhouse raised from the legendary Kursk submarine, as well as the Church of the Savior on Waters, which is part of the complex.

Looking into the distance, you will see the majestic figure of a soldier more than 35 meters tall.

This will be the next point of our route — the Green Cape Hill and the memorial to the "Defenders of the Soviet Arctic", popularly known as "Alyosha".

This monument is a symbol of the courage and steadfastness of the defenders of Murmansk during the Great Patriotic War.

The monument "Waiting" is located nearby. Touching and graceful, he collects images of all the women who are looking forward to the return of their sailors: husbands, sons and fathers. This place fills the atmosphere with warmth and hope.

After the tour, you will have free time to relax or enjoy the evening Murmansk.

Stroll through the streets of the city, buy souvenirs in memory of your trip, or enjoy dinner at one of the restaurants, where you can enjoy a variety of dishes from both international and Northern cuisine.

The organization of the tour was excellent. However, there was one downside: on the last day, the departure was scheduled for seven in the morning, and the group had to leave without breakfast. This isn’t our first trip, and in similar situations, we’ve usually been provided with packed meals. Unfortunately, this time that didn’t happen, and the hotel breakfast also starts at seven.

We really enjoyed it, and we were lucky with the weather too. Ruslan, who accompanied our group, was outstanding—truly top-notch! He made everything interesting, easygoing, and highly informative. Thank you, Ruslan, and thanks to the entire hosting team as well. Everything was fantastic!
