Route 30. Across the mountains to the sea in Adygea

30th is the number of the route through the Caucasus, through the mountains to the sea, one of the oldest and most popular.

When traveling with us, everything is thought out, lightened, and loaded. Organization of adequate nutrition and reasonable comfort in shelters. We go light all the way.

The difference between our tour and the classic thirty is the ascent to the top of Mount Oshten, we pass over the top, we do not waste time returning in our own footsteps. The route is still great and has just acquired a new "zest", has become more accessible and interesting.

It's important to know

Personal equipment you need for the tour

When choosing clothes to participate in an active tour, keep in mind that they should protect you from wind, rain, sun, insects and mechanical damage (branches, grass, stones). We recommend taking specialized hiking clothing made of synthetic materials, as it provides good ventilation, dries quickly, does not crease, and is more comfortable when moving.

For comfort and safety during the active part of the tours, we recommend taking with you:

  • Medicines for individual needs;
  • documents: passport, insurance policy (medical);
  • cash money.

  • fleece jacket (required! — for all weather conditions);
  • a set of lightweight thermal underwear (optional);
  • fleece hat (believe me, it can be useful in early summer);
  • fleece gloves (believe me, they can be useful in early summer).

For climbing the city of Oshten and two-day hikes:

  • lightweight down jacket designed for temperatures up to -10 °C (optional);
  • thermal underwear for sports (for temperatures from -5.. to +15 ° C). It can be used as a bottom layer in the evening at a campground and at night instead of pajamas);
  • fleece gaiter (bafik) / warm shawl – to insulate the throat and neck.

Note: do not forget the fleece hat and gloves! They are definitely needed here.

For warm weather

  • synthetic T-shirts 2-3 pieces, one of them with long sleeves;
  • shorts / light hiking or sweatpants;
  • trekking summer socks 2-3 pairs. You can use the usual ones;
  • A hat for sunny weather is a cap/panama hat in early summer.

Useful equipment:

  • small backpack (20-30 l);
  • sunscreen (! absolutely);
  • sunglasses (for snow and sun protection) — optional;
  • a hermetic package for your phone and photo and video equipment (in case of rain).

    The glamping site is set in a beautiful, picturesque location. I’d especially like to highlight the dining - every dish was delicious, and you could tell that a lot of care went into the menu. Nothing was ever repeated, which was a nice touch. The only downside for me was that the showers didn’t always work reliably. I hope this will be improved in the future.
