Belorechensky Pass is located between Belorechenskaya Mountain and Fisht massif, its height above sea level is 1782 meters.
The pass divides the valleys of the Belaya and Shakhe rivers.
During the Great Patriotic War, the territory occupied by the Caucasus Nature Reserve was a key part of the German command's plans to reach the Black Sea coast to destroy the fleet.
The path to the Cherkessky pass is very picturesque, every now and then it bends around huge boulders, the height of the largest reaches 3-4 meters.
On the pass (1836 meters above sea level) there is a whole village of shepherd's houses and summer cottages.
