A mountain camp in Altai. Travel to the Multin Lakes light

In the morning we assemble the camp and then we will move by mountain transport to the Lower Multin Lake (the move will take about 2 hours). 

After arrival, we will set up a tent camp for the next 5 nights. 

And here they are, the Altai Mountains are in front of us!

The ones that you saw in the pictures and dreamed of seeing firsthand!

Picturesque mountains that are covered with cedars from the toes and almost to the top. 

And there are lakes at the foot of the mountains. 

Our camp will be located close to the Lower Multin Lake. 

You can always come here in the morning to admire how the lake wakes up and a misty haze is born over it. 

Here you can also admire the evening colors, when the sun shines gold on the tops of the mountains and smoothly goes over the horizon. 

Our plans for this day include a trip to the Noise rolling. 

We will walk through the forest along the Lower Multin Lake. 

By the way, the length of the lake is 2300 m!

This is not just a modest, mountainous body of water. 

This is a magnificent lake of Altai.

Just above the Lower One is the Middle Multinskoye Lake. 

The lakes are connected by a huge rolling Noise. 

In places it looks like a waterfall, in places it looks like a wide and calm river. 

The picturesqueness of this place is given by large and small stones, which randomly lie in the water and flaunt in front of tourists. 

At the rolling Noise, we'll take a walk, take a lot of pictures and set off on our way back.

It's time to see new sights in our hike to the Multin Lakes! 

Altai lakes are very large, the Lower one is 2300 m long, the Middle one is 1990 m. 

In order not to waste time walking, we will cross both lakes by boat.

Next, we will go to the cordon of the Katunsky reserve, say hello to the foresters. 

And after that, we are already on our way to the mountains on foot. 

Surprisingly, there are no large elevation differences between lakes in these places. 

The distance from the Lower to the Upper Multin Lake is about 12 km, and the height difference between them is only 170 m. 

This means that most of our journey will be smooth, and the ascents will be quite insignificant. 

After passing through the zone of coniferous forests, we will go out to the alpine meadows.

In summer, they bloom in all their glory and add color to our photos! 

We will come to the Upper Lake closer to lunch. 

The highlight of the lake are the driftwood trees, which are very picturesquely spread out in the water and on the shore of the reservoir. 

We won't see this anywhere else! 

The color of the lake is a classic emerald, the nature of Altai certainly did not spare colors for its reservoirs.

And the mountains with snowfields complete this perfect picture.

Today we will see 2 interesting objects at once – a waterfall and a lake.

Kuyguk Waterfall is very attractive! 

It is born among large stones and descends into the valley in one powerful cascade. 

The waterfall is very powerful and full-flowing. 

Rising above the waterfall, we will see a small lake Kuyguk, and a little further we will discover the main treasure of this valley!

Huge, emerald, from which it is impossible to take your eyes off.

In sunny weather, its color is something incredible! 

It seems as if an invisible artist took several watercolor paints and mixed them: emerald, azure, a drop of green, a couple of drops of blue and a little more turquoise. 

The color is magical, you'll see for yourself! 

This beauty is complemented, as usual, by mountains, blue sky, white clouds and modest cedars that grow near the lake and admire it.

We will devote this day to a pleasant rest. 

It will be possible to sit near the river, take a walk near the Lower Multinsky Lake or ride a sap.

Would you like to fly higher and look at the Multin Lakes from a height?

We do not promise about flights, but our guide knows an excellent route, thanks to which you can climb higher and look at the lakes from there. 

After climbing the ridge a little, we will look into the neighboring valley. 

There we will see how the ridges stretching into the distance spread out in long waves, the backs of which are covered with cedar forest. 

And if you look into our valley, you can already see the Lower Multinskoye Lake! 

The views are great, but it's not enough for us.

Go higher, it's more interesting there! 

Having gained more altitude, we will come to the main observation deck.

From here you can see almost all our routes, the Kuyguk Valley, the valley of the Krepkaya River, the Lower and Middle Lakes. 

The active part of the Altai tour: 10.4 km, altitude difference of 1630-2320 m, trekking duration of 6-7 hours.

To reach the Transverse Lake, we will cross the Lower and Middle Multinskoye by boat again.

Then we'll walk. 

In places, you will need to cross small streams, walk through the forest area, through alpine meadows.

And in the afternoon we will reach our goal.

This pond is a real cherry on the cake! 

Delicious, beautiful. 

When you sit near this lake, the feeling of unreality does not leave you. 

It seems as if there could be no such beauty in the world.

But it can! 

Altai is able to surprise and make your heart stand still from its beauty. 

Active part: 21.2 km, altitude difference 1630-1890 m, route duration 9-10 hours.

Today we are moving by minibus to Gorno-Altaysk.

On the way to the mountains, we will make a stop at the Seminsky pass. 

There is a souvenir market here and you can treat yourself to both delicious and just pleasant souvenirs.
