Climbing the Actra. Altai

Aktru is the Mecca of Siberian mountaineering. The gorge of the Bish-Iirdu mountain junction is stunning in its beauty. It was here, on the North Chui ridge of the Altai Mountains, that one of the first alpine camps of the Soviet Union began its work in 1938.

Thanks to the well-organized infrastructure and magnificent nature, the Aktru gorge has become a center of attraction for climbers from all over Russia. Therefore, hundreds of tourists who decide to discover mountaineering climb one of the most accessible four thousand meters in Russia every year.
