8:00 a.m. Breakfast.
After breakfast, you will have a choice of excursions: walking tour to Mount Kyzyl, horseback riding tour to Mount Bayda or helicopter tour to Lake Akkem.
- 10:00 Walking tour to Mount Kyzyl (included in the tour).
Radial hiking access to Kyzyl Mountain (2,517 m), 5-6 hours.
Mount Kyzyl is the left neighbor of Mount Bayda and is located above the Tungur fields.
The trail is clearly defined, it goes with a gradual ascent, gaining height along a serpentine, passes through a parking lot with a shepherd's hut by a stream, at an altitude of 1,500 meters.
It is possible to rent transportation to the foot of the mountain for an additional fee (approximately 4 km).
Then we continue along the slope with grasses and flowers taller than human height.
Just before the top, the trail leads to alpine meadows.
Snow often falls on the top in June and the wind blows.
A rest with a snack and a panoramic view in all four directions is organized here.
Visible: the Terekta ridge, the bend of the Katun River, the blue ribbon of the Kucherla River, the villages of Katanda, Tyungur and Kucherla, the entire Katun ridge, led by a Beluga Whale in the distance.
- 10:00 Horseback riding tour to Mount Bayda (additional charge is 4,000 rubles per person).
Radial horseback ride to Mount Bayda (2,070 m), 4-7 hours.
Mount Bayda, as it were, overhangs the village of Tyungur, being part of the Terekta ridge.
Translated from Altai, “baytu” means rich; another translation is helmet.
Both options are suitable for this amazing mountain: if there are the mightiest cedars anywhere, it's on Bayda; meadows are flowery in June and berry in July and August; lots of wild large and small animals, birds, herds of horses – and there are almost no people, only a rare shepherd with a flock of sheep.
And the shape of the Kayak is similar to a helmet.
But the main advantage of a trip to Mount Bayda is to look at Mount Belukha from an unusual angle, which is not found from any other point in the Altai Mountains.
The highest point of Altai, Belukha (4506 m) is visible from any point of the Bayda.
And the higher up the mountain, the higher the Beluga grows above the entire Katun ridge, as befits the highest mountain in Altai.
Organization of radial access on horseback to Mount Bayda: tourists are accompanied by a horse breeder.
The tour includes horse rental, horse breeder services.
It is recommended to take a lunch bag.
19:00 Dinner at the base cafe.
Then an evening by the campfire, an exchange of impressions.
