Chemal holidays. Altai Auto Tour

After breakfast, we will go on an excursion "Legends of Chemal", during which we will visit the island of Patmos, passing over the suspension bridge over Katun to the Church of St. John the Theologian, Chemalskaya HPP – the oldest hydroelectric power station in Altai, the confluence of the Chemal and Katun rivers. 

Patmos is a small island with steep rocky slopes on the Katun River, on which the Orthodox Church of St. John the Theologian is located. 

At the moment, the temple is an active women's monastery, where services are held, at the same time it is available for everyone to visit. 

After the tour, we will visit the fair of Altai and Mongolian goods and souvenirs, purchase natural products of Altai: honey, herbal teas, pine nuts, etc. 

In the late afternoon, we will take a tour of the village of Askat: climb Mount Menzhelik, go down to the rock "Marble" and walk along the shore of Katun, admiring the evening sunset.

Excursion to the Tavda cave complex, which has about three dozen separate caves. 

The Tavda cave became the most famous (the ticket is paid additionally). 

In addition, it is ideally equipped for tourists to visit. 

Steps and lighting, conveniently located entrances, a spacious central gallery and a small height difference in the underground cavity will allow us to comfortably explore everything around. 

Next, we will go for a walk to the Kamyshlinsky waterfall through the suspension bridge over the Katun along a picturesque forest path (ticket is paid additionally).

The waterfall is located in a narrow stone bed of the Kamyshla River, where the water falls sharply with noise and roar from an almost vertical ledge in jets down from a height of 390 m to 350 m, forming a depression resembling a round well.

Excursion along the Chemalsky highway to the Oroktoysky bridge. 

In the area of the Orokto Bridge, Katun has a small width and the greatest depth, according to some measurements more than 70 m. 

The Teldekpen rapids are located under the bridge - one of the most beautiful and longest rapids on Katun.

On the way, we will make a stop in the valley of mountain Spirits and at the Yelandinsky threshold. 

We will go up to the observation deck in the Chechkysh tract (ticket is paid additionally), where a stunning landscape opens onto the valley of the Katun River. 

Also, from the observation deck, you can observe the island in the middle of Katun, popularly nicknamed the MTS egg for the similarity from the advertising of the mobile operator.

Excursion to the only nursery of pure-bred Belovezhskaya bison beyond the Urals (ticket is paid additionally). 

We will not only see them, but also learn a lot of interesting things from the lives of these forest dwellers – contemporaries of the mammoth. 

Transfer to Gorno-Altaysk.
