Palettes of Altai

This day is dedicated to one of the most impressive roads in Altai, the Ulagan highway.

After breakfast, we set off on the route, making stops at the Red Gate, at the observation decks of the Ulagan Pass and at the picturesque Kidel Lake.

The culmination of the journey awaits us — the Katu-Yaryk pass. As well as a walking descent along its dizzying serpentine to the valley of the Chulyshman River. The views from the trail are truly epic!

There will be a river crossing below and a walk along a flat path to the powerful Kurkure waterfall. The sound of falling water and the coolness will remain in your memory for a long time.

After the tour and lunch at the cafe, we return to our eco-complex. Dinner for an additional fee.

Let's start the day with the mysterious Geyser Lake — bizarre streaks and traces of underwater springs constantly appear and melt on its surface.

And then we'll change the planet! We transfer to off-road vehicles and go to the Kyzyl-Chin valley, which is called the "Altai Mars".

These are red rocks containing millions of years of Earth's history, painted in fantastic colors. The red, orange and maroon hills contrast with the blue-green peaks — a surreal sight!

Next, the Altai Moon awaits us — a hilly valley of bizarre white and gray shapes, where funny photos with art objects await you.

In the evening, transfer to another recreation center, dinner for an additional fee and cozy gatherings around the campfire.

A day of natural immersion and ancient mysteries.

First, trekking to the high-altitude Kuektanar lakes awaits us. 4.5 km in one direction with an altitude of 350 meters. The trail passes through the taiga forest among massive rock formations and overlooks the golden larch taiga.

Next, the way lies to the village of Kosh-Agach, where we will meet the main mystery: the Tarkhatinsky megalithic complex, or "Altai Stonehenge".

You will see an ancient observatory, a stone circle and a mystical Stone chair (Kabai Tash) covered with petroglyphs.

After that, an authentic dinner in a Kazakh yurt with dishes of national cuisine. This is a gastro tour with immersion in the meanings of nomadic food.

Our journey through Altai is smoothly coming to an end, but there are still two bright accents ahead.

First, we will visit the Kalbak-Tash tract, one of the largest collections of rock paintings in Altai. Here time is frozen in the form of petroglyphs telling about the life of ancient people.

Next, we will see a powerful and fascinating sight — the confluence of the Chuya and Katuni rivers. Two great rivers meet, but their colorful waters flow side by side for a long time without mixing, creating an amazing contrast.

Lunch at a roadside cafe, transfer to the Taezhnik eco-hotel. This concludes the tour program.
