Day 3 -
Free day or Karakol lakes
6:00 Breakfast with you, departure for an excursion to the Karakol lakes (additional payment for the excursion is 5,000 rubles/person. or you can choose a free day).
Translated from the local language, “Karakol lakes" translates as "black lakes".
The way to the Karakol lakes is interesting in itself.
There is no highway, in the usual sense, to the lakes, delivery is carried out by high-traffic vehicles (GAZ 66).
The one-way road to the 5th Karakol Lake takes about 4 hours (40 km).
Upon arrival, tourists will have lunch prepared by our cook over a campfire.
After that, an excursion to the Karakol lakes (4 km).
Due to the significant elevation difference, the system covers a wide range of natural and climatic zones.
The lower lakes are surrounded by massifs of mountain cedar taiga, above the forest level the trees give way to alpine meadows with a wide variety of flowers, edelweiss grow here, and the flora and fauna of the high-altitude tundra is characteristic of the surroundings of the small upper lakes.
If the weather is warm and sunny, you can swim in the 2nd Karakol Lake, the water of which is bright turquoise due to the increased silver content.
