The thousand-faced Altai. Car-walking tour with tents

In the morning, after breakfast, we go to the high-altitude Kurai steppe, known all over the world for giant traces of ancient currents, global natural changes.

Petroglyphs, mounds, stone sculptures and ancient irrigation systems can be seen on the territory of the steppe.

After enjoying the views of the steppe, we go to see another natural wonder — the Geyser Lake.

Lake is an artist who surprises with new drawings every minute.

And the miracles don't end there.

Ahead is Kyzyl-Chin, nicknamed the Altai Mars.

Among the red landscapes, you will feel like an astronaut or a cowboy in the Wild West.

After lunch, our way leads to the glacier along a winding road through shepherd's camps, wild, untouched lakes.

We will set up a camp on the bank of the Akkol River, near the waterfall.

The evening promises to be unforgettable.

The night will be invigorating – in a tent.

This day will be athletic, your muscles will be in good shape!

9 km of trekking (one way) to the ancient glacier through rocks, shrubs and streams is a real test of strength and endurance.

But it's worth it — the contrasts of a cold glacier and blooming glades are plenty for photographers!

We go to the foot of the Sofia glacier.

One of the largest in Altai.

After lunch, we return to the camp.

Overnight in a tent.

In the morning, as soon as we woke up, we refreshed ourselves and set off again.

Today you will have a magnificent panoramic view of the entire valley where we spent the night.

Having tamed our uncontrollable delight from the mountain views, we drive to the ancient "gallery" of rock paintings in the open air — the Elangash valley.

Here, as researchers, we will look for ancient drawings of ancestors.

We are going to the place of overnight stay on the river bank, towards the Buguzun spring.

Today we are going to the border with Tyva. 

Where numerous herds of sheep and herds of horses graze freely, where the Tyva Nature Reserve begins.

Having done a photo shoot with views of Tuva on Chapaevsky pass, we go to the holy spring Buguzun.

The spring is known far beyond the borders of the republic, people come here to be treated for various diseases.

These springs, lost among the hills, give strength and faith in recovery to many people.

We return to the village of Aktash.

Where dinner, a sauna and warm heart-to-heart conversations are waiting for us.

The day will begin with a steep and unforgettable ascent to the highest mountain of our trip (more than 3,000 meters) in Lysukha.

From here, 360 degrees you will see Altai in the palm of your hand — the snow-white mountain chains of the North Chui range, the Kurai steppe, turquoise lakes, the Aktash abandoned mine, a web of roads, taiga forests.

After admiring enough, we drive back along the Ulagan highway, through thickets of forests, small lakes, ahead of us are the Red Gates and the Ulagan Pass, dotted with white ribbons.

And the final chord of our journey of this day will be the Katu—Yaryk pass and the amazing Chulyshman Valley, where we will spend three nights!

The Chulyshman Valley is replete with waterfalls.

And today we will go to one of the most famous — the two-stage Kurkure waterfall (15 meters), where you can see the guardian of the waterfall and the rainbow behind a layer of water.

We are returning to the base.

Overnight there.

When visiting the Chulyshman valley, it is necessary to visit the impregnable Uchar waterfall.

This is the largest waterfall in Siberia – 160 meters.

The thundering giant in a thousand streams will not leave you indifferent!

The very path to the waterfall will make an indelible impression on you.

This is a path of obstacles, Zen knowledge and a lot of pleasant emotions!

The radial walk is designed for the whole day (9 km in one direction).

Stone mushrooms in the Ak-Korum tract are another unique asset of the Chulyshman Valley.

This is an amazing creation of nature!

Giant mushrooms, 7 meters high, forged from sand, soil and stones, have been welcoming curious travelers for years.

Transfer to Cape Kyrsai, where we spend the night on the shore of the largest lake in Altai — Lake Teletskoye.

Overnight in tents.

Fire.

A boat arrives for lunch and an exciting tour of Lake Teletskoye (78 km) awaits us.

On the way we visit the Altai Nature Reserve and the Korbu waterfall (12 meters).

We disembark at the pier in the village of Artybash (where you can refresh yourself in the dining room).

Then by car to the hotel / railway station / airport of Gorno-Altaisk.
