Only on our route you will be able to meet the dawn at the very foot of the mountain in the base camp of climbers, and touch the Beluga Whale with your hand! During the trip, you will find fragrant alpine meadows and coniferous forests, the turquoise Kucherla river and the stormy milky-white Ak-Kem River, mountain lakes, glaciers and waterfalls, the multicolored mystical Yarlu valley, ancient rock carvings and real Edelweiss, stunning panoramas of the snow-capped peaks of the Katun range, and, of course, the snow-white, legendary, sacred Belukha Mountain!

Itinerary

Day 1 - The beginning of the path
Departure from Novosibirsk/Barnaul in Ust-Koksa village.
Departure from Novosibirsk at 20:00.
Departure from Barnaul at 23:50 (local time, Moscow time+4).
Length: by car – 875 km from Novosibirsk / 640 km from Barnaul.
Meals: on the road at your own expense.
Day 2 - Ust-Koksa
Arrival at the tourist complex in Ust-Koksa village.

Ust-Koksa is a picturesque village located in the Uimon valley on the banks of the Koksa River. If desired, you can visit the confluence of two rivers – the Koksa and Katun.

Lunch.

Safety briefing, receiving equipment.

An evening of dating.

Day 3 - Kucherla River
Breakfast.
Transfer to the village of Tyungur (translated from Altai as "Shamanic tambourine"). The beginning of the active part of the route.
The path leads through picturesque alpine meadows and coniferous forests along the turquoise Kucherla River, one of the most beautiful rivers in the Altai Mountains.
On the way, visit the Kuylyu rock grotto with ancient rock paintings. At the end of the day, climb up to the beautiful Kuylyu parking lot.
Length: by car – 60 km, on foot + packhorses – 20 km.
Meals: breakfast in the cafe, lunch and dinner – camp kitchen.
Accommodation: overnight in tents.

Day 4 - The Kucherlin trail
Ascent along the upper Kucherlin trail. Gradually, the path will rise above the forest area and opens onto a high-altitude plateau.
Along the way, you can enjoy magnificent views of the valley of the Kucherla River, Lake Kucherlinsky and the snow-capped peaks of the Katun Ridge!
Overnight at the Kamennaya Izba high-altitude parking lot.
Length: on foot + packhorses – 10 km.
Meals: breakfast, lunch and dinner – camp kitchen.
Accommodation: overnight in tents.

Day 5 - Kara-Tyurek Pass
Ascent to the Kara-Tyurek pass (translated from Altai as "Black Heart"). Difficulty category 1 A. Height 3060 m.
The view from the pass is fantastic! Before us is a snow–white beauty, the highest point of the Altai Mountains - Mount Belukha, the milky waters of Lake Ak-Kem and the multicolored Yarlu valley! Great photo opportunity!
Overnight on the shore of Lake Ak-Kemsky.
If desired, you can go to the sauna.

Day 6 - Ak-Kemskaya Wall
Access to the famous Ak-Kemskaya wall, at the foot of Belukha.

A very busy day!

First, the path goes along Lake Ak-Kem, passes through picturesque suspension bridges, then goes out onto the glacier.

On the way, visit the ice grotto, from where the Ak-Kem River originates.

Overnight at the Tomsk mountaineering base camp.

From here you can enjoy a stunning view of the famous Ak-Kem wall and the two peaks of Belukha – East and West!

Day 7 - Beluga Whale
Meet the dawn at the foot of Belukha!
Today you can come up and touch the legendary mountain with your hand! Return to Ak-Kem Lake.
Rest on Lake Ak-Kem.
If desired, you can go to the sauna and buy Altai tortillas.
Length: on foot – 14 km.
Meals: breakfast, lunch and dinner – camp kitchen.
Accommodation: overnight in tents.
Day 8 - Yarlu Valley
A walk to Yarlu Valley is one of the most amazing and mystical places in Altai, many consider it a place of power!

A whole town of stones has been built here, in the center of which is the so-called Stone of Power.

The valley is known for its colorful rocks, the mountain range called the Mother of the World and the edelweiss blooming here!

Length: on foot – 5 km.

Accommodation: overnight in tents.
Day 9 - Ak-Kem River
Descent along the Ak-Kem river.
Ak-Kem is a stormy milky-white mountain river originating from the glacier of the same name, the name from Altai translates as "White water".
On the way we will see a natural monument – Tekelu waterfall.
Overnight at the Three Birches parking lot.
Here you can buy delicious pies, cottage cheese, honey and tea with Altai herbs.
If desired, you can go to the sauna.
Length: on foot – 20 km.
Meals: breakfast, lunch and dinner – camp kitchen.
Accommodation: overnight in tents.
Day 10 - Kuzuyak Pass
The ascent to the uncomplicated Kuzuyak pass is 1513 m.
There are endless thickets of wild rose, raspberry and red currant trees along the way.
Return to the village of Tyungur.
Transfer to the tourist complex in Ust-Koksa village.
Bathhouse. Farewell party at the base.
Length: on foot – 20 km, by car – 60 km.
Meals: breakfast, lunch – camp kitchen, dinner at the base.
Accommodation: camping.
Day 11 - Departure
Breakfast.

Equipment delivery.

Free time: walking, buying souvenirs and Altai honey.

Lunch.

In the afternoon departure to Barnaul/Novosibirsk.

Length: by car – 640 km to Barnaul / 875 km to Novosibirsk.
Meals: breakfast and lunch at the base, dinner on the road at your own expense.
Day 12 - End of the program
Arrival in Barnaul/Novosibirsk.

Estimated arrival in Barnaul at 9:00, in Novosibirsk at 13:00 (local time, Moscow time+4).

It's important to know

Documents – passport, medical policy.
The money is for additional expenses (meals on the road, a sauna, souvenirs, etc.).
Clothes:
- Warm clothes: a jacket or down jacket, warm trousers (for example, with fleece lining), a warm sweater (made of wool or fleece), warm socks, gloves, a hat.
- Raincoat or waterproof storm jacket. A fabric raincoat with taped seams or a membrane jacket will do. If you decide to take an inexpensive, oilcloth raincoat, take several pieces at once (with a margin).
- Waterproof/windproof pants. Fabric trousers with taped seams from the "jacket/pants" kits, which are sold in hunting, fishing, tourism stores, or membrane trousers, will be suitable.
- The main set of clothes: lightweight sweatpants for transitions, several T-shirts, underwear, several pairs of socks, a sun hat.
- Sleepwear: a set of thermal underwear or a thin knitted set (T-shirt with sleeves and tights). A separate pair of warm socks.
Shoes:
- Trekking boots (you can wear well-worn "boots" or other high boots with a solid sole).
- Sneakers or sneakers.
- Slates.
Personal first aid kit:
- Medicines for specific diseases.
