In our tour we have collected the most beautiful and spectacular lakes of the Uymon valley: we will see the famous Multin lakes, turquoise lake Kuyguk, Bashtalinsky, three lakes of the Red Mountain. It will be incredibly beautiful!

Itinerary

Day 1 - The city of Gorno-Altaysk, the Roerich Museum, the village of Zamulta
09:30-10:00 Gathering of the group in the city center and at the airport in Gorno-Altaysk.
Having gathered together, we are going to the mountains!
On the way, we will make a stop for lunch and be sure to visit the very interesting Nicholas Roerich Museum.
The museum was created in the house where Nikolai and his family stayed a long time ago.
In the museum we will see the originals of his paintings, photographs of his sons and a very interesting lady of Roerich's heart.
This museum impresses a lot of our tourists!
We will arrive in the village by evening. The ground.
Here we will stay in a hotel, where we will stay throughout the tour.
The active part of the Altai tour: 440 km by minibus (about 7-8 hours); 1.5 km on foot.
Day 2 - Lower Multinskoye, Middle Multinskoye Lake and rolling Noises
In the morning we go to the mountains, look at the Multin lakes!
Today, for the first time, we will drive a local GAZ-66 or UAZ car.
These are SUVs that will drive everywhere.
Today we are waiting for the favorite lakes of tourists – the Lower and Middle Multin lakes!
When you approach the shore of the Lower Lake, it seems that you are standing on the seashore.
The lake is huge, its length is 2300 m.
There is a hiking trail along the lake.
We will definitely follow it to get to the Middle Lake.
The average is a slightly smaller reservoir, its length is 1990 m – it is almost 2 kilometers!
It is inferior to its younger brother only in length, but the beauty of the lake can safely compete with each other.
Near the Middle One, the snow caps of the mountains are already visible in the distance, and there is also a rolling Noise here.
It is in this place that the water flows out of the Middle Lake and, like a river among huge stones, flows and flows into the Lower One.
Today is visually very beautiful, and in terms of walking it is a very easy day.

Day 3 - Red Mountain and three mountain lakes
Altai nature is able to create lakes that are very different from each other.
And today you will see for yourself!
All-terrain vehicles will take us to the Red Mountain on this day.
The mountain is rich in manganese and iron, which is why it got its name.
And the mountain is also rich in lakes, today we will see three local reservoirs.
In the Cartoon, you and I saw lakes that are surrounded by dense forest.
Here, the landscape will be completely different!
Around the second and third lakes there will be Altai meadows, low grass and variegated flowers.
Two lakes lie each in their own square – a deep recess in the landscape of the mountains.
The lakes are beautiful, emerald, and they are connected to each other by a small stream with a waterfall.

Day 4 - Filaretka Mountain
Today we will take a break from long journeys and go to the neighboring Filaretka Mountain.
A long time ago, the hermit Filaret lived in these places, after whom the mountain is named.
This place is secluded, comfortable for the soul.
A climb to the top awaits us.
Yes, there will be a noticeable height difference and you will have to go up all the time!
But you know that we are not just going uphill!
Firstly, there will be a delicious lunch at the end of the route.
And secondly, we will have stunning views of the green Uymon valley.
We will see the Katunsky, Terektinsky ridges and the valley of the Multa River.
The active part of the Altai tour: 6.8 km on foot, altitude difference of 950-1640 m, tracking duration of 6-7 hours.

Day 5 - The confluence of the Akkema and Katuni rivers
Let's go and see what is outside our villages of Multa and Zamult!
In addition to mountains and lakes, the pride of Altai is rivers.
There are more than 17,000 rivers here, and their total length is more than 51,000 km!
While vacationing in Altai, you will learn about the main rivers of these places: the majestic Katun, the obstinate Chulyshman, Biya, Chuya, Akkem, Kucherla live here.
On this day, we will go deeper into the mountains to see the confluence of the Akkem and Katun rivers.
Altai rivers are interesting because they have different colors.
And it looks very impressive when two rivers merge together!
Akkem has a milky color, and Katun has a color from brown to emerald.
Joined together, for some time the waters of these rivers run side by side and each carries its own color.

Day 6 - Kuyguk Lake and Waterfall
We already know the beginning of the route by SUV, we are going towards the Multin Lakes again.
But today we will follow a completely new path.
Lake Kuyguk always amazes tourists with its incredible color.
It is turquoise, azure, sometimes it has shades of blue.
In short, I would like to say that it is incredible!
When you sit near this lake, it's hard to believe that this is the natural color of the water.
The landscape is decorated with elegant cedars, and there is still snow on the neighboring mountains in places.
This picture is worthy of National Geographic magazine!
Also on this route, we will see a spectacular waterfall and the lower Kuyguk Lake as a bonus.

Day 7 - Bashtalinsky lake. Panorama of Belukha Mountain
The Bashtali plateau is located at an altitude of 2,300 m, which means that we will rise above the forest zone again!
Today we will see one pond, but it is definitely beautiful!
Bashtalinsky Lake is of glacial origin, it is also located in the Kara.
When you look at it from a height, it seems that you are standing on top of a volcano, in the crater of which there is a beautiful lake.
Let's tell you a secret: we are going to these places not only because of the lake.
It is from the Bashtali plateau that, in clear weather, you can see Belukha – the most coveted mountain of these places, the snow-white Altai beauty.

Day 8 - Return to Gorno-Altaysk
Our journey has come to an end.
We are returning to the city of Gorno-Altaysk.
16:00-17:00 Return to Gorno-Altaysk.
Active part: 440 km by minibus (about 7-8 hours).
Depending on the weather conditions, the physical condition of the participants and other factors, the route of the tour to Altai may be changed.

The route passes through forest trails, dirt roads, alpine meadows, large and small stones. Slippery soil is possible underfoot after rain. There will be a passage of small rivers over rocks along the route. The elevation difference per day is from 100 to 400 m, in one day the difference will be 700 m. Climbing up 100-400-700 m is about like climbing 35-130-230 floors.

The dates are June 22-29, 2024. The tour is experimental. The instructor of the Forester Alexander knows part of the route, but he will visit some places for the first time. Instructor Alexandra has experience leading groups in the mountains since 2018.

The trip to Baikal was a success! The organization of the tour was impeccable. Thanks to the manager in the Big Country Yulia Trubinova. All the planned trips were at a good level, the accommodation also corresponded to the promised, i.e. with all amenities. Many thanks to our instructor of the Voskhod tour club - Alexey Dusenko and all the participants of the tour. Thanks to them, the tour turned out to be very interesting, rich and diverse for me. Of course, Baikal must be seen firsthand, photos and videos will only remind you of these days, and will not convey all the beauty! It is also remarkable that we were very lucky with the weather.
