An excursion to Altai Mars is a real miracle of nature.

Today we will go to the Stone Mushrooms.

The road passes through the Katu-Yaryk pass, one of the most technically difficult passes in the Altai Mountains, and one of the most beautiful.

You will see the incredibly beautiful valley of the Chulyshman River.

After lunch, we will take a walk to the stone mushrooms – natural rock formations in the Chulyshman valley.

They are stone columns with a "hat" – a natural miracle.

Uchar is waiting for us – the largest cascading waterfall of the Altai Mountains and one of the most amazing sights of the Altai Nature Reserve.

The height of the fall is about 160 meters.

Taiga landscapes, swift rivers Chulyshman and Chulcha, crystal clear mountain air are waiting for us.

Today we will get acquainted with Lake Teletskoye. 

It is one of the largest reservoirs in Southern Siberia. More than seventy large and small rivers flow into the lake.

We will take a ferry ride with cars from the south to the north of Lake Teletskoye.

Overnight at a campsite in the village of Artybash.

After breakfast, we move to the village of Chemal.

On the way we will visit the National Museum of the Altai Republic named after A. V. Anokhin.

The museum is the oldest cultural institution in the Altai Republic.

The museums have collections on the ethnography of the Altaians and the Russian Old Believers.

We will visit the Chemalskaya HPP.

We will walk along the picturesque "Goat Trail" along the steep rocky coast of Katun, on the way we will inspect the confluence of the Chemal River with Katun.

Then we will go to the island of Patmos, which is located in the middle of the Katun River.

It is connected to the mainland by a suspension pedestrian bridge.

There is a convent and the Church of St. John the Theologian on the island.
