Itinerary

Day 1 - Gorno-Altaisk – Chibit
Meeting with guides at Gorno-Altaisk airport at 10:00.

Transfer to the village of Chibit.

On the way, we will visit the Karakol Nature Park "Uch Enmek".

Let's get acquainted with the traditional dwelling of the Altai people – the village.

During the tour, you will get acquainted with various types of traditional housing of the Altai indigenous people, as well as its internal material and spiritual components.

After that, we will go to the largest collection of petroglyphs in Siberia, Kalbak-tash.

The whole way of life of ancient people is shown on the rocks.

The age is 1000-5000 years old.

We will also make a stop at the confluence of the Chuya and Katun rivers.

Day 2 - Chibit – Mars – Chibit
An excursion to Altai Mars is a real miracle of nature.

Unreal landscapes and color.

The high content of mercury in the rock gives a reddish hue.

On the way we visit the Geyser Lake – the "earth's eye" of amazing turquoise color.

"Geysers" come to life, throwing out a mixture of bluish clay and sand to the surface, which form visible circles on the bottom of the lake.

Return to Chibit, rest

Length: by car – 200 km, on foot – 4 km.

Day 3 - Chibit – Aktau repeater – Chibit
A real off-road adventure awaits us today.

Jeep ascent to an altitude of more than 3,000 meters above sea level.

From the top there are stunning views of the snow-covered North Chui ridge and the Kurai steppe.

Day 4 - Chulyshman
Today we will go to the Stone Mushrooms.

The road passes through the Katu-Yaryk pass, one of the most technically difficult passes in the Altai Mountains, and one of the most beautiful.

You will see the incredibly beautiful valley of the Chulyshman River.

After lunch, we will take a walk to the stone mushrooms – natural rock formations in the Chulyshman valley.

They are stone columns with a "hat" – a natural miracle.

Day 5 - Trekking to Uchar Waterfall
Uchar is waiting for us – the largest cascading waterfall of the Altai Mountains and one of the most amazing sights of the Altai Nature Reserve.

The height of the fall is about 160 meters.

Taiga landscapes, swift rivers Chulyshman and Chulcha, crystal clear mountain air are waiting for us.

Day 6 - Stone mushrooms – Teletskoye Lake – Artybash
Today we will get acquainted with Lake Teletskoye.

It is one of the largest reservoirs in Southern Siberia. More than seventy large and small rivers flow into the lake.

We will take a ferry ride with cars from the south to the north of Lake Teletskoye.

Overnight at a campsite in the village of Artybash.

Length: car – 50 km, ferry – 70 km.

Day 7 - Artybash – Chemal
After breakfast, we move to the village of Chemal.
On the way we will visit the National Museum of the Altai Republic named after A. V. Anokhin.
The museum is the oldest cultural institution in the Altai Republic.
The museums have collections on the ethnography of the Altaians and the Russian Old Believers.
We will visit the Chemalskaya HPP.
We will walk along the picturesque "Goat Trail" along the steep rocky coast of Katun, on the way we will inspect the confluence of the Chemal River with Katun.
Then we will go to the island of Patmos, which is located in the middle of the Katun River.
It is connected to the mainland by a suspension pedestrian bridge.
There is a convent and the Church of St. John the Theologian on the island.

Day 8 - Chemal – Gorno-Altaysk
Departure to Gorno-Altaysk airport.
