Flight to the South Pole and the colony of Emperor penguins

We will spend today at our camp to acclimatize.

The guides will tell you how the camp is organized, and the naturalist guides will give lectures on the flora and fauna of Antarctica.

From the third to the fifth day of the tour, you will visit the colony of emperor penguins.

After a leisurely breakfast, we will fly to one of the most remote and pristine parts of Antarctica near the Wedell Sea.

We will land on the ice, which is probably more than a thousand years old, and our guides will take you to a camp located near the colony of emperor penguins.

We will spend the rest of the day visiting the colony for the first time and getting to know the penguins.

In the following days, you can visit the colony at any time.

You can use the services of our guides, or you can walk at your own pace and at a time convenient for you.

You will see how the adult penguins look after the kids, and you will hear them calling each other.

On the third day, when the weather is favorable for flights, we will return to the Union Glacier Camp.

We will spend the day at our campsite to get some rest and prepare for the next part of our journey.

Today we are waiting for a flight to the South Pole, the Holy Grail of polar explorers.

We will find ourselves in the center of the seventh continent and on the axis of the globe. All the meridians converge at this point, and the thickness of the ice is about 3,000 m.

Geographically, this is the last place that captured the minds of an entire generation of explorers who overcame harsh trials and gave their lives to reach this point.

We will have enough time to take photos in a memorable place: at the very point of the South Pole and next to the ceremonial sign that was erected in honor of the signing of the Antarctic Treaty.

After that, we will visit the American Amundsen-Scott station, which operates here all year round. We will find out what research is being conducted to explore this unique place, and we will see what the scientific laboratory is doing.

After this tour on our plane, we will return to the camp, where the chefs will serve you a festive dinner in honor of reaching the South Pole.

The final day in Antarctica, which can also become a spare day for a flight to the South Pole if the weather does not allow us to make a flight on day 7.

Together with other travelers, we will go back to Chile in Punta Arenas.

The guides will meet you at the airport and take you to the hotel you have booked.
