Day 1 - Sightseeing tour of Kargopol
Arrival at Nyandoma station:
06:34 by train No. 10 St. Petersburg — Arkhangelsk.
10:02 by train No. 118 Moscow — Arkhangelsk.

Transfer to Kargopol (78 km).

Sightseeing walking tour of Kargopol — a walk along the cozy embankment and ancient neighborhoods.

Kargopol, in the past, was a famous trading city of the ancient Russian state, located at the very source of the Onega River, originating from Lake Lache.

Day 2 - Kenozersky National Park. Big Beef

08:30 Departure to Kenozersky National Park (2.5 hours on the way).
Kenozerye is a very important place for understanding the peculiarities of the Russian North and getting amazing impressions.
The park is a specially protected natural area that claims to be included in the UNESCO World Heritage List.
The peculiarity of Kenozersky Park is that it is here that the cultural and natural heritage has been preserved here in the most complete and multifaceted way.
This is one of the islands of the real northern way of life, traditions, and culture.
The route will feature a unique natural monument — a fragment of the continental divide of two oceans — the Arctic and the Atlantic.
The ridge left by the glacier separated two neighboring lakes. One of them has a drain into the Baltic Sea, and the other into the icy White Sea.
Tourists will climb the Khizhgora to the church of Alexander Svirsky, from the belfry of which a wonderful view opens.
On request, a walk through the architectural park "Kenozersky biryulki", where the monuments of wooden architecture of Kenozerye are recreated in miniature: chapels, huts, outbuildings.

Continuation of the route in the village of Bolshye Lyadiny (37 km).
There is a multi-headed Epiphany Church with an intricate semicircular porch, which is not found anywhere else.
A walk through the village, old gate wells and other features of the northern village, a visit to the ethnographic museum "Lyadinskoe uzorochye", where objects of peasant life and linen crafts are collected.
Subject to transport accessibility and taking into account the length of daylight, it is possible to check into the former village of Krasnaya Lyaga, where the earliest tent-roofed single-column Sreteno-Mikhailovskaya Church built in 1655 has been preserved on the shore of a bygone karst lake (self-inspection).

Day 3 - Bus and walking expedition to the "Oshevenskaya parish". Transfer to Arkhangelsk

Visiting villages: Saunino and Pogost (50 km). The second most important place in Kargopolye, where you should definitely visit.
An ancient reviving monastery, wooden architecture and traditional crafts for the Russian North coexist here at the same time.
The village of Oshevenskoye is an outstanding historical and landscape monument of the Russian North. Residential buildings in an ancient layout organically adjoin chapels, churches, and the monastery complex.
Artifacts of pagan culture have also been preserved here: votive crosses, a holy grove, cult worship stones. And it's amazing!
In the village of Saunino there is the church of St. John Chrysostom — a tent church built in 1665. Inside, the temple is covered with a picturesque ceiling — "painted skies".
The hexagonal bell tower of the XVIII century gives the whole ensemble a complete and unique look.
A village with a wonderful name Pogost, where ensembles of monuments of wooden architecture have been preserved. In ancient times, the word "churchyard" meant not only a cemetery, but also a common place of nearby settlements.
Not all settlements have been preserved, but the village of Pogost has been preserved and is part of the Association of the most beautiful villages in Russia. That's why people come here from different lands — near and very far.
A rustic lunch of Kargopol cuisine. Bread and pies from a Russian oven are a forgotten taste for someone, and for someone a previously unknown taste. Simple and delicious food: rich soup and fish "in the north", pickles and Oshevenskaya porridge.
After lunch, visit the village of Archangel, where on the left bank of the Onega River there are two wooden churches — Archangel Michael (1715) and the Presentation of the Lord (about 1820).
The first one is unique in that it is completed with a cubed roof, known only in the Poonezhye and on the Prionezhsky shore of the White Sea. Cuba has a traditional five-domed church. The apse is blocked by a barrel.
The Sretensky Church has a helmet-shaped roof with a dome at the end. The Temple of the Presentation of the Lord belongs to the type of tiered temples.
14:00 Transfer to Arkhangelsk by bus. Travel time is 5 hours, stops are made on the way.
Arrival in Arkhangelsk after 19:00.

Arkhangelsk is a regional center, the first seaport of Russia and the gateway to the Arctic, the magnificent dominant of which is the majestic river — the Northern Dvina.
There are many interesting objects on the embankment of the Northern Dvina: the monument to Peter I and the seal Savior, the Assumption Church and the courtyard of the Solovetsky monastery, the monument to the northern convoys and the "window to the Arctic".
From the embankment of the Northern Dvina there is a beautiful view of the island part of Arkhangelsk and the island of Solombala — the place where, by decree of Peter the Great, the first state-owned shipbuilding shipyard was laid and the first merchant ship was launched.

Country tour "Severodvinsk — the city by the White Sea".
Severodvinsk is the second largest city in the Arkhangelsk Region, an industrial and port giant, and a center of nuclear shipbuilding.

A visit to the museum of local lore and a special interactive program-a story dedicated to the construction of a nuclear submarine.

The village of Lomonosovo is located on the Kurostrov near the village of Kholmogory.

In summer, you can get to the island by ferry, and in winter by ice road (winter road).
At the Lomonosov Museum, the building of which is located on the site where the Lomonosov house was supposedly located, guests will get acquainted with the history and discoveries of the great scientist, as well as learn about the life of that time.
At the master class of bone carving, they will create a souvenir, and after that they will walk through the village to the white stone temple of Dmitry Solunsky.

Malye Korely is Russia's best open—air museum of wooden architecture and the main attraction of Arkhangelsk.
Once in Maly Korely, you will find yourself in Russia of the XVIII–XIX centuries: peasant huts, slender wooden temples of Kargopol, Pineja, Podvinya and beautiful northern pines stretching to the sky create a feeling of patriarchy and extraordinary peace.
