On August 2, 1918, life in the city on the Dvina River was divided into before and after. It was on this day that a coup was carried out in Arkhangelsk, and the Russian North became white and foreign for many months, as opposed to the troops of the Red Army.
During a bus and walking tour of the city, we will be transported back a century and visit the Cathedral Pier, the landing site of the interventionist troops.
We will walk along the walls of the English Hospital No. 53, the Headquarters of the American troops, the Dormitory of the Government of the Northern Region and the Barracks of the Uprising.
We will see the Mark V tank, a monument to Pavlin Vinogradov, a man who proved himself loudly in the battles on the river front.
As well as the Lutheran Church, where many representatives of the Entente countries gathered.
We will visit the Orthodox Church of the Assumption, where we will see an icon painting dedicated to the Apparition of the Virgin in Arkhangelsk in 1919, and finish the tour at the British War Memorial.
