Itinerary

Day 1 - Zaonezhye. The White Sea Canal and petroglyphs
08:10 Meeting at Petrozavodsk railway station and departure by bus in the direction of Belomorsk.
Stop and a short tour of Medvezhegorsk.
Inspection of the gateway of the White Sea-Baltic Canal in the village of Povenets and the Church of St. Nicholas, built in memory of the prisoners who died during the construction of the BBK.
Visit to the Sandarmokh tract, a place of mass graves of repressed and GULAG prisoners.
13:30 Lunch.
17:15 Arrival in Zalavruga. The White Sea petroglyphs are located here on the islands of the Vyg River. The rock carvings, which are at least 4.5-5.5 thousand years old, are included in the UNESCO World Heritage List.
Transfer to Kem/P. Rabochiostrovsk.
Accommodation at the hotel.

You can skip this day and come to Kem by train from St. Petersburg./Moscow. In this case, you will be met at night at the railway station and taken to the hotel.
Day 2 - Solovki: Solovetsky Kremlin and Sekirnaya Mountain

07:30 Boarding the ship.
08:00 Sea crossing to Solovki. Travel time is 2 hours.
10:00 Sightseeing tour of the village of Solovetsky and a story about the Solovetsky Kremlin from a local guide.
13:30 Lunch.

15:00 Sekirnaya Mountain tour:
The Holy Ascension Skete and the unique lighthouse Church;
observation deck with panoramic view of the island;
the guide's stories about the penal isolation ward and the executions of prisoners during the camp, the Savvatievsky hermitage and the Solovetsky Jung school;
a stop at Bolshoe Korzino Lake and the history of the lake-canal system on the island.
Return to the village of Solovetsky.
Rest.
Independent dinner.

08:30 Guided tour of the village and a story about the history of the settlement and its modern life, people and their way of life, about the famous White Sea algae, methods of their extraction and production.
10:00 Excursion to Bolshoy Zayatsky Island: mysterious stone labyrinths of primitive people, wooden church of St. Andrew's skete, boulder pier.
13:30 Return to Bolshoy Solovetsky Island and lunch.
Free time.
16:00 Sea crossing to Rabochiostrovsk on a motor ship.
18:00 Arrival in Kem.

Kemka Hotel

Kemka is a small hotel located in the city of Kem, Republic of Karelia. Comfortable conditions of stay among the pristine nature are created for the guests here.

After a busy day, you can relax in the cozy rooms. The private bathroom has cosmetic kits, terry towels. Standard amenities include a refrigerator, air conditioning, and cable TV. Wi-Fi is provided free of charge. The hotel allows pets upon prior request.
