Itinerary

  • Day 1 - Zaonezhye. The White Sea Canal and petroglyphs

    08:10 Meeting at Petrozavodsk railway station and departure by bus in the direction of Belomorsk.

    Stop and a short tour of Medvezhegorsk.

    Inspection of the gateway of the White Sea-Baltic Canal in the village of Povenets and the Church of St. Nicholas, built in memory of the prisoners who died during the construction of the BBK.

    Visit to the Sandarmokh tract, a place of mass graves of repressed and GULAG prisoners.

    13:30 Lunch.

    17:15 Arrival in Zalavruga. The White Sea petroglyphs are located here on the islands of the Vyg River. The rock carvings, which are at least 4.5-5.5 thousand years old, are included in the UNESCO World Heritage List.

    Transfer to Kem/P. Rabochiostrovsk.

    Accommodation at the hotel.

    Please note! Accommodation in Belomorsk is possible for some arrivals.

    You can skip this day and come to Kem by train from St. Petersburg./Moscow. In this case, you will be met at night at the railway station and taken to the hotel.

The cost of the tour is for 1 person:

  • preferential (pensioners, the disabled, and combat veterans) – 57,500 rubles.;
  • children 5-12 years old – 55,000 rubles.

Kemka Hotel

Kemka is a small hotel located in the city of Kem, Republic of Karelia. Comfortable conditions of stay among the pristine nature are created for the guests here.

After a busy day, you can relax in the cozy rooms. The private bathroom has cosmetic kits, terry towels. Standard amenities include a refrigerator, air conditioning, and cable TV. Wi-Fi is provided free of charge. The hotel allows pets upon prior request.

There is a small restaurant nearby where you can order delicious a la carte dishes. There is also a barbecue area for self-cooking in the hotel's garden. The bar offers a wide range of drinks.

Public transport stops are located near the Kemka Hotel, from where you can quickly get to the center of Kemi.

The Pier is the largest hotel in the Kemsky district of the Republic of Karelia, with 8 cottages. 

The village of Rabochiostrovsk, which is located on the western coast of the Kemskaya Bay of the White Sea, is very easy to reach (12 km from the Kem railway station).
