About 70 monuments of iconographic art of the XV–XVII centuries are on display, 33 of them are shown for the first time. The famous "Ustyuzha letters" are presented, with their elegance of drawing and calligraphic purity of lines, careful drawing of details and exquisite coloring.
Among them are outstanding works of Ustyug iconography — the icon "Assumption of the Mother of God" (1496), the contribution of Prince Semyon Borisovich Suzdalsky to the main temple of Great Ustyug — Assumption Cathedral, the image of the Savior Not Made with Hands (XVI century), the miraculous icon "Our Lady of Odigitria Smolenskaya" (about 1558), before which Peter the Great prayed in 1693.
