12:00 An excursion to the Museum of Ancient Russian Art is held at the Church of the Ascension. The Museum of Ancient Russian Art was created in the architectural monument of the 17th century — the Church of the Ascension, where a museum tour was organized. Today, the temple is a rare monument, distinguished by the integrity of its interior.
Ustyug icon painting is especially vividly represented in the Museum of Ancient Russian Art. About 70 monuments of icon painting of the XV–XVII centuries are on display, 33 of them are shown for the first time. The famous "Ustyuzha letters" are presented, with their elegance of drawing and calligraphic purity of lines, careful drawing of details and exquisite coloring.
Among them are outstanding works of Ustyug iconography — the icon "Assumption of the Mother of God" (1496), the contribution of Prince Semyon Borisovich of Suzdal to the main temple of Veliky Ustyug — Assumption Cathedral, the image of the Savior Not Made with Hands (XVI century), the miraculous icon "Our Lady Hodegetria Smolenskaya" (about 1558), before which Peter the Great prayed in 1693.
Note: in case of a weekend or a sanitary day at the Church of the Ascension, the tour is replaced by a sightseeing tour of the museum's storage facility.

The abundance of monasteries and churches in the Russian North has determined another type of work of bone cutters: icons, crosses, icons.
Icons were mounted from bone plates and figures on a rectangular board on a foil or fabric background. A collection of metal objects is presented in a separate room of the storage facility.

- Excursion to the Trinity-Gledensky Monastery. Summary: at the confluence of the Sukhona and Yuga rivers, the city of Gleden stood on a high hill in ancient times. A monastery in the name of the Holy Life-Giving Trinity was founded near the city, which is rightfully considered one of the oldest in the Russian North. The iconostasis, which was restored in the 70s of the 20th century by Moscow restorers, is admired by everyone who comes on a museum tour to the Trinity-Gledensky Monastery. Visit to Dymkovskaya sloboda. Panorama of the embankment of Veliky Ustyug. Notes: the tour is a bus and pedestrian tour, conducted only in summer (from May to September). - Excursion to the Mikhailo-Archangel Cathedral, decorated with a tall three-tiered carved gilded iconostasis of the 17th and 18th centuries, which combines two styles — Baroque and classicism.
