In the Vologda province of the 19th century. there were more than two hundred estates, not all of them have been preserved, but many still delight the eye with their beauty.

In 4 days we will show you four cities at once with unique estates and stories of the Vereshchagin, Milyutin and Galsky families. You will also visit the Spasskoe-Kurkino estate.

The history of the Vereshchagin family

Visit the family home of the famous artist Vasily and Nikolai, the founder of the Russian dairy industry

Traditional Vologda lunch

There will be an opportunity to taste Vologda steaks with chicken, boiled pork in onion and mushroom broth, an envelope with berries from Vologda forests and fragrant tea.

The world of the Russian village

In the Museum of Ethnography, you will be greeted by friendly hostesses, and they will tell you about the life, customs and traditions of Belozer in the local dialect.

Day 1 - Departure. Ustyug Iron
07:00 Departure from the metro station "Dybenko Street".
Transfer to Ustyuzhna.
Lunch at a cafe in Ustyuzhna (additional charge).
Sightseeing tour of Ustyuzhna. Ustyug-Zhelezny (now Ustyuzhna) was first mentioned in the Uglich Chronicle in 1252. The city was known as the weapons center of the Russian state and was famous for its gunsmiths.
It was in Ustyuzhna that the lattices for the gates of the Spasskaya and other towers of the Moscow Kremlin were made. This city is also known for the fact that the incident based on the plot of the famous comedy by Nikolai Gogol "The Inspector General" took place in Ustyuzhna.
Transfer to the village. Danilovskoe.
Visit to the Museum-estate of the Batyushkovs and A. I. Kuprin. The only memorial house of the famous Russian poet Konstantin Nikolaevich Batyushkov in Russia, whose work was admired by Alexander Sergeevich Pushkin.
The name of Alexander Ivanovich Kuprin, a friend of the last owner of the estate, Fyodor Dmitrievich Batyushkov, is also associated with the Batyushkov memorial house.
Transfer to Cherepovets. Check-in at the hotel. Free time.

Transfer to the village of Vladimirovka to the Lotarev estate.
Guided tour of the Lotarev estate. It was in this wonderful corner that young Igor Lotarev, the future "King of Poets" Igor Severyanin, who often came to visit his uncle during his studies at the Cherepovets College, drew his inspiration.
This is an amazing place where the beauty of nature attracts creative people.
Important! There is a country road leading to the estate, approximately 1.5 km on foot in one direction, it is necessary to wear comfortable and high shoes in the off-season.

Visit to the I.A. Milyutin House Museum. The owner of the house was Ivan Andreevich Milyutin, a merchant, a public figure and the mayor. Despite his status, he lived very modestly. Maxim Gorky called him a "white crow among the Russian capitalist crows."
While serving as the head of Cherepovets, Milyutin did a lot for the city: industrial enterprises were opened under him, and quite a lot of funds were allocated for the needs of education.
It was under his leadership that Cherepovets began to be called "Northern Athens" and "Russian Oxford."
Visit to the Galsky Manor Museum. The Galsky family is an ancient family of the Novgorod nobility, which traces its history back to the 16th century. The estate passed into the possession of Lev Nikolaevich Galsky in 1848 as a dowry.
Another name of the estate is "Gorka", it got this name due to its location on the high bank of the Sheksna River. A two-storey wooden mansion is located in the center of the estate, its architecture shows harmony and finely drawn details.
Each room in the house conveys its own mood: a ladies' chamber or a ceremonial state hall.
Return to the hotel.

Transfer to Bratkovo village.
Interactive tour of Bratkovo village and showing the manor of the Endourovs. The manor was built around the middle of the XVIII century under Lieutenant Colonel Stepan Grigorievich Berdyaev. Under Berdyaev, the construction of the Yeldan Church in Bratkovo is being completed.
Then the estate was transferred to the landowners of the Kandalintsevs, and subsequently to the nobles of the Endogurovs, who were later called the Endourovs. Under the Endourovs, cheese and butter production was established in Bratkovo village.
Village games and fun are also waiting for you: tug of war, learning street dances and household dances with guests.
Master class on silhouette graphics. The art of silhouette has been known since ancient times. At the beginning of the 18th century, the fashion for silhouettes, which originated in France, spread in a short time to all European countries, including Russia.
The famous Russian silhouette artist Elizaveta Merkuryevna Boehm (nee Endourova) was born in the capital, but spent her childhood at the Endourov family estate.
Elizaveta Merkuryevna's works have participated in international exhibitions in Paris, Munich, and Milan. It is quite possible that Boehm painted her silhouettes in Bratkovo.
Russian Russian oven lunch with a musical program by the Divo-Grad Russian song ensemble.
Transfer to D. Pokrovskoe.
Interactive tour of the Bryanchaninov estate and the Pokrovsky Temple. You will visit the house of Dmitry Alexandrovich Bryanchaninov, a famous Russian church figure of the 19th century, the world's largest Orthodox theologian, St. Ignatius.
Transfer to Vologda.

Spasskoe-Kurkino estate. The manor belonged to the landowners Rezanov-Andreev and in the 19th century was considered one of the largest and most beautiful architectural ensembles of the provincial manor culture of Vologda region.
The Rezanov nobles were large landowners. In the period from 1828 to 1832, they owned 139 villages and villages in four counties of the Vologda province).
The Rezanov-Andreev family included such famous people as Generalissimo A.V. Suvorov, writer Turgenev, Field Marshal Kutuzov).
Return to Vologda.

I'm so glad I chose the 'Across the Expanses of Perm the Great' tour in July 2024. It was a high-quality, engaging, and thoughtfully designed journey through the entire Perm region. The trip was full of fascinating discoveries: ancient monasteries, unique museums, the distinctive Permian animal style and wooden deities, the history of salt production and the Stroganovs in the Urals, and much more. The natural beauty of Parma was breathtaking: dense forests, countless rivers, mountains, and even an ice cave. The hotels were comfortable, and the breakfasts and lunches were tasty, often featuring elements of local cuisine. Traveling in a small group made the experience even more enjoyable, after all, it's usually seasoned travelers who venture to the Perm region. One special moment was when we all got to bake and taste traditional gingerbread made from an old recipe, for many of us, it was a first.
