A comfortable express tour of the Baikal ice

Today we will take a look at the so-called "big Baikal". 

To do this, we will get to the northernmost point of Olkhon Island – Cape Khoboy. 

The cape is an incredibly spectacular platform for the widest part of the lake: 80 km of frozen water surface, hummocks shining in the sunlight and icy ruffles of coastal rocks. 

It is in this place that a burning sense of kinship with the whole of nature appears, because it becomes clear how weak and small you are alone in the face of the elements.

After such an emotional shake-up, eating right in the fresh air: A delicious picnic lunch will be at your disposal.

Having refreshed ourselves, we set off on our way back, along the way we will visit several more spectacular locations to make memorable shots. 

The road, by the way, deserves special attention. 

Taking into account the passability of the Olkhon roads, we will choose the most reliable and comfortable cars of the local realities – UAZs. 

And upon returning to the hotel, we will find time to share our impressions with each other over a cup of herbal tea and enjoy the warming atmosphere of the Siberian winter.

On the third day of the tour, you will have a unique experience and unsurpassed in its beauty shots of ice in all its forms!

It is worth noting that even we will move all day exclusively on ice.

To do this, we will choose the appropriate transport – we will be carried by a hovercraft – Khivus.

First, we will drive along Olkhon to its southern part. 

Here you will see a stunning landscape in the style of the fairy tale "Morozko": the water, falling on the coastal rocks, created amazing ice figures, decorated grottos and caves.

After watching the ice installation, we will stop at Ogoy Island, which has been home to the eight-meter Buddhist Stupa of Enlightenment for more than 15 years. 

You will not only examine this beautiful structure, but also take part in an exciting ritual: walk around the stupa seven times so that your cherished wish is heard by the gods and it is fulfilled. 

Next, we will move to Sandy Bay.

In the summer season, the bay, beloved by tourists, welcomes vacationers with a paradise beach with golden sand and friendly lapping waves, but in winter there is also something to see. 

You will immediately notice an amazing phenomenon – “stilted” trees. 

The trunks of these majestic trees are raised on strikingly high roots, and they are also sculpturally twisted by the diligence of centuries-old winds. 

Finally, we will go to the village of Bolshoe Goloustnoe.

When the ice rises, the same placers of bubbles appear here, which are flaunted in many photographs of winter Lake Baikal. 

Let's not stay away and also take beautiful pictures of this unusual phenomenon of nature, and then go to the final destination of this day. 

It will be the tourist center of Lake Baikal – the village of Listvyanka, where we will stay at the hotel to rest after a busy trip.
