Itinerary

Day 1 - Departure to Listvyanka village, sightseeing tour
10:00 Group meeting at Irkutsk airport.

Transfer to the village Listvyanka (65 km) is one of the oldest Russian settlements on the shores of the great Lake.

From time immemorial, Listvyanka has been the Gateway to Lake Baikal.

Now it has turned into a tourist center, with equipped attractions, museums, cafes, restaurants, hotels and riding centers.

On the way, we recommend visiting the Taltsy Architectural and Ethnographic Museum (for an additional fee), where you can not only see wooden architecture and the way of life of the peoples of the Baikal region, but also taste real Siberian pancakes with butter in the Refectory.

In Listvyanka, we will take a sightseeing tour of the village with a visit to the observation deck of the famous Shaman Stone, listen to the romantic legend of Lake Baikal, and visit the active Orthodox Church of St. Peter the Great. St. Nicholas the Wonderworker is the patron saint of all travelers and navigators.

Those who want to learn more about Lake Baikal can go on an excursion to the Baikal Ecological Museum (for an additional fee), where there are many exhibits telling about the inhabitants of Lake Baikal, they can even be seen live in the aquariums located in the museum.

For indefatigable travelers, there is an opportunity to take a boat ride on Lake Baikal (for an additional fee), walk or ride ATVs (for an additional fee) along the forest shore of this picturesque lake.

We will end this eventful day with a visit to the souvenir market adjacent to the fish rows, where you will be offered all the variety of Baikal fish cooked in various ways.

Return to Irkutsk.

Day 2 - Departure to Olkhon Island – Khuzhir village
After breakfast, we will take a minibus to Olkhon Island along the road that runs through the steppes past ancient Buryat villages, through the picturesque foothills of the Baikal range, the Siberian taiga, which then again give way to the Mongolian landscapes of the Tajeran steppe.
Olkhon Island is the largest of the 26 islands of Lake Baikal, its geographical, historical and sacred center, even in its shape resembling the outlines of a lake.
We will take a large ferry to the island.
You will see both the "Small" and "Big" seas – two parts of Lake Baikal, separated by Olkhon, and the famous Olkhon Gate Strait, which runs between the island and the mainland.
Another 40 km across the island and we are in the village of Khuzhir, the capital of the island.

Length: 320 km. Travel time: 6 hours. Transfer by scheduled tourist transport to Olkhon.

Day 3 - Car tour to Cape Khoboy
Full–day excursion to Cape Khoboy, the northern tip of the island, near the widest part of Lake Baikal.

Along the way, you will be able to see all the diversity of Baikal's natural landscapes concentrated on the island: steppes with bays jutting deep into the land, sand dunes, mixed deciduous forests with patches of relict spruce forest, picturesque cliffs on the shore of marble covered with red lichens.

From the cape, which offers panoramic views of the northern part of Lake Baikal, in good weather you can see the outlines of the Ushkany Islands and the Holy Nose Peninsula.

A walk through the surroundings, during which the guide will tell you about the legends, traditions and customs associated with these places.

And if the local gods are very benevolent, they will give you the opportunity to see the unique Baikal seal, the only freshwater relative of the seal.

Return to the campsite.

Day 4 - Getting to know the surroundings of Olkhon and the culture of Buryatia
Free days on the island.

If desired (for an additional fee), you can visit a real Buryat village, where you will get acquainted with the way of life, traditions, lifestyle of the Buryat people, as well as taste the national dishes of Buryat cuisine.

You can also take a water tour of the islands of the Small Sea or visit Ogoy Island (for an additional fee).toll), on which the Buddhist stupa is located.

Fans of active travel are invited to ride along the coast on bicycles or quad bikes (for an additional fee).For those who like to bask in the sun, there is a sandy beach and a warm bay.

Day 7 - Return to Irkutsk
After breakfast, fees and room release.
Transfer to Irkutsk by regular bus (320 km, ~7 hours).
On the way, stop for lunch at a roadside cafe (for an additional fee).payment).
