Ascent of Munku-Sardyk. Adventures in the Sayan Mountains

Accommodation in tents is common, there is no gender separation, when making an application, be sure to clarify to the manager your wishes for accommodation in a tent (for example, if you have a married couple, you want to live alone and other basic wishes for settlement).

For visitors from Russia, a meeting at the railway station in Slyudyanka (buses and trains run from Irkutsk. Travel time is about 2 hours) and departure to the Okinsky district.

Attention! The bus from Slyudyanka will depart exactly on time, so try not to be late.

Accident insurance is not included in the price of the tour. You can apply for additional travel insurance on the website of a Large Country without commission directly from insurance companies.

Discounts for children under 12 years of age — 10%.

1. Participants independently take turns cooking along the entire route, set up tents, harvest firewood and carry out the transfer of all necessary equipment (including kayaks).

2. They help the guide in every possible way in creating a favorable psychological environment in the group.

3. The guide guides along the route, distributes duties among the participants, but does not play the role of a guide, animator, psychologist, in an active tour, the main goal is a safe and comfortable passage of the route from start to finish, as well as the opportunity to visit picturesque places where tour groups never go, to acquire certain skills that can it will be useful in further travels.

4. Guide (instructor) — coordinates all movements of the group along the route, according to the tour program.

5. If you have any questions about equipment, overcoming certain obstacles on the route, immediately contact the guide.

6. Tourists receive all information about the area, history, culture when visiting museums and excursions.

7. Tourists are required to familiarize themselves with the rules of conduct on the route before buying a tour.

All our guides live on Lake Baikal and they will be happy to tell you about their lives, the way of life of the local population, customs, and local cuisine. They will share with you the stories they know about Lake Baikal.

8. For those who go on their own, you can only pay for the bus. The cost of travel:

- Ulan-Ude — Bely Irkut — Ulan-Ude, by comfort class bus with TV — 3200 rubles (with arrival at hot springs);

- Slyudyanka-Bely Irkut-Slyudyanka (with a stop at the hot springs in Zhemchug) — 2500 rubles.

When buying a bus ticket, departure from Ulan-Ude at night.

It is carried out one month before the start date of the trip, for foreign citizens 2 months in advance. You can also apply for a pass yourself on the public services website.

Equipment and accessories:
* Backpack for women with a volume of at least 70-80 liters, for men 80-90 liters.;
* Polyurethane mat;
* A plastic bag or a hermetic bag (inserted inside the backpack to protect it from moisture) ;
* Head lamp;
* Sunglasses and sunscreen;
* Sleeping bag (comfort — 15, -20);
* Spoon, mug, knife;
* Matches sealed in polyethylene or plastic packaging, a lighter.
* Individual first-aid kit (with the necessary set of personal and specific medicines no more than 200g by weight. A roll of Band-Aid is required);
* Camera;
* Thermos or plastic bottle;
* Sunburn products (required in the mountains and traveling on the water)
Clothes
* Underwear — at least 2-3 sets;
* Thermal underwear (winter set. Jacket + tights) — 1-2 pcs.;
* Sports trousers, suitable for daily wear depending on the season;
* T-shirt 1-2 pcs.
* Jacket, fleece, etc. for daily wear 1-2 pcs. (preferably made of modern materials, windproof and waterproof);
* A powder puff + insulated trousers (As a rule, in the mountains at this time and on Lake Baikal, it must be available. Trousers – protection from wind and moisture when interacting with snow).
* Socks (or trekking ones) — 2-4 pairs;
* Thermal socks or woolen (trekking, insulated) — at least 2 pairs;
* 2 pairs of shoes, worn apart (for climbing – mountain climbing boots + trekking boots. Optional running shoes (for traveling, recreation centers, on trains, etc.)
* Shoe covers, flashlights – required (if not on trousers)
Note: The sun is active in the mountains during the day and snowmelt is possible, so shoes should have good water-repellent properties. (Rubber boots (in addition to boots) – at the discretion of the participants)
* Warm sports cap — 2 pcs.
* Personal hygiene products (toothbrush and paste, toilet paper, etc.);
* Gloves -2 pairs. In winter and climbing – insulated gloves – 1 pair and very warm mittens – 1 pair;
Special equipment (on certain routes):
* Crampons and an ice axe (usually included in the price);
Important! It is mandatory to have the following documents on the entire route: a passport, a compulsory medical insurance policy, a birth certificate for the child, a certificate from a therapist if there are chronic diseases (the tourist assumes responsibility for his health on the tour).

The requirement for a set of "personal belongings" is nothing superfluous and heavy, since you will also have to carry food (about 600 -800g. per day per person) for the entire route and group equipment (tents, axes, boilers, etc..
