Day 1 - Arrival in Irkutsk. Ust-Ordynsky village and the Golden Horde Ethnic Park. Marble Quarry
Upon arrival in Irkutsk, your unforgettable journey will begin!
First, let's go to the village of Ust-Ordynsky and its datsan!
In the mid-90s of the XX century, during the revival of traditional religions of Russia, the datsan Tubden Darzhelin appeared.
Datsan is located in the village of Ust-Ordynsky.
Lama Sergei Sutaev was appointed rector.
He began the construction of a Buddhist temple known as dugan.
After visiting the datsan, we go to the National Museum of the Ust-Orda Buryat District, founded on February 24, 1944.
The opening of the museum was aimed at showing and studying the culture of the Western Buryats.
The museum has 7 halls, 4 of them with permanent exhibitions.
The main theme of the halls touches on the theme of who we are among our family, nature and religion.
The first hall is also dedicated to archaeology.
The museum has more than thirteen thousand items of exhibits, most of which are objects of ethnography, archeology, collections of paintings and graphics, photographic documents, etc.
On its territory there is an open–air complex "Buryat peasant manor of the late XIX - early XX century", where there is a winter house, a traditional Buryat dwelling – a yurt, a barn.
After the museum, our journey continues, on the way to Lake Baikal, you will stop at the Golden Horde Ethnic Park!
You will get acquainted with the ethnocultural identity of the indigenous population.
From the doorstep you will be hospitably greeted with a colorful ritual of purification by fire, hadak and white food.
The folklore program will fascinate with the skill of the performers and cultural fullness: you will hear the "Legend of the Wolf" in the technique of throat singing, the "cosmic" sound of playing the ancient musical instrument khomus will create an atmosphere of nature sounds around, and after that you will have a delicious lunch in a colorful authentic yurt.
After visiting the ethno-park, a road awaits us to the famous marble quarry near the village of Buguldeika.
If you leave Buguldeika towards the village of Elansi, you will see a huge deposit of marble.
White stone blocks are visible from afar, marble reserves in Buguldike occupy about 10 million cubic meters.
The age of the deposit is 2 billion years old, it is older than Lake Baikal itself.
The local marble is characterized by high density, uniformity and whiteness, it is ideal for sculptures and decoration.
The field offers magnificent views of Lake Baikal and the Buguldeika River.
After visiting the quarry, we will go to the Small Sea, where you will spend the night.
Tomorrow we will go to the Buryat ancestral estate!
You will see: Datsan, Ust-Ordynsky, Golden Horde ethno-park, marble quarry, Buguldeika, Tazheran steppes, the Small Sea.

Day 2 - The Tazheran steppes. Ancestral manor
Today began on the Small Sea.
We are waiting for a trip straight to the Buryat family ancestral estate!
Your path will follow the "Martian Road", as our guests often say about the Tazheran steppes.
These are kilometers of open space, in some places picturesquely decorated with rocky remnants.
Landscapes really transport you to some kind of alien reality!
Driving through the steppes, you can sometimes see swans, eagles, and many other migratory birds flying by.
Scientists believe that the outlines of the steppe surface were formed about 4 million years ago.
Having survived the Ice Age (10-12 thousand years ago) This area has preserved unique species of plants and animals, which are living artifacts of various geological eras.
Despite its modesty and unpretentiousness, the Tazheran steppes are rich in a variety of species, many of which are endemic.
After that, lunch will be waiting for you at the Buryat family ancestral estate of Anga.
There is also a special program waiting for you!
You will be greeted in accordance with Buryat customs, you will take part in the ancient ritual of "cleansing" with the smoke of the Aya Ganga grass, you will taste nogoon sai - green tea with homemade milk, Buryat bread "khutrulga" and traditional dishes of Buryat cuisine prepared from the products of your own farmstead!
You will also hear many legends and tales of the Buryat tribe Ehirit.
In addition to all of the above, you will have a unique opportunity to learn how to play Buryat folk games with lamb bones, which are included in the UNESCO list of intangible treasures!
Upon returning to the Small Sea, you can spend the evening relaxing or taking a walk!
In spring, it begins to warm up on Lake Baikal, the first buds and foliage appear on trees and shrubs, the wild rose blossoms, and the number of vacationers on the island is still small, which will allow you to fully enjoy an evening walk.

Day 3 - A tour of the south of Olkhon Island. Shamanka Rock
Today you will travel to the heart of Lake Baikal – Olkhon Island – this is the largest inhabited island on the lake (730 sq km).
The route of this excursion runs through the southern steppe part of the island.
You will be amazed at how many surprises are hidden in a seemingly homogeneous steppe.
Sometimes you can meet a herd of wild horses on the way.
At the observation deck "Polevoy Stan" you will have a panoramic view of the village of Khuzhir and all the local beauties.
After that, you will go to Hanhoi Lake.
It is a small lake separated from the Small Sea by a sandy spit, and in summer it is a favorite place for fishing and swimming.
Very close to the lake there is a "Rock Garden" – a place that attracts tourists with its mysterious atmosphere, a remarkable feature of which are large and small piles of stones protruding from the ground, stacked in a kind of turrets.
Next you will see a lonely birch tree on the Olkhon.
At first glance, it's a completely ordinary place.
But this is only at first glance!
This is a unique natural monument, which is also associated with legends.
You will learn them during the tour, let's keep the intrigue for now!
Further, the tour program includes a visit to high rock formations in the steppe, called "Trident" or "Castle Ruins".
Be sure to try to climb them: you will see a panorama of the blooming steppe after a long and frosty winter, and on the other hand, Lake Baikal.

Day 4 - The Russian upper room in the Oblique Steppe. Departure
Today we are going to say goodbye to the Small Sea and Olkhon.
In the morning, after breakfast, you will set off for Irkutsk.
On the way, we will stop in the village of Kosaya Steppe.
The village of Oblique Steppe is located in the meadow-steppe valley of the Buguldeika River, where there is a narrow, elongated stretch of steppe located on a slope — the southern gentle oblique slope of the mountain and named Oblique Steppe, hence the name of the village.
This village has a great history, there is one street along which ancient houses (monuments of cultural heritage) are located, around fields dotted with strawberries – strawberry village!
The locals themselves collect herbs for tea and make jam according to family recipes.
Here you can get acquainted with the Russian original culture.
The guests are greeted by friendly housewives at the Russian Upper Room, which was previously the ancestral estate of the Beklemishev family.
To raise your spirits and warm up your muscles, you are invited to exercise in "Kossep fun" (bag fighting, running with speed grips, etc.).
Then the action continues in the upper room, where you can immerse yourself in different types of weaving.
You can try to weave a talisman belt using a special technique, enjoy intimate conversations with chants, taste fragrant ivan tea and taste yarns according to an ancient recipe, as well as enjoy fragrant strawberry jam from the Kos-steppe fields.
As the end of the eventful program, a fun and exciting round dance with clockwork dances awaits you. After visiting the upper room, we will continue our journey to the city of Irkutsk.
