Itinerary

Day 1 - Makhachkala
Meeting at the airport or railway station from 9:00 to 19:00, accommodation, sightseeing tour of Makhachkala.
After the meeting in Makhachkala, you go to the hotel, check in and relax.
A little later we will go on a sightseeing tour of Makhachkala. This is a city with an amazing destiny, its founder is considered to be Peter I.
15:30-18:30 Sightseeing tour of Makhachkala.
The city, founded as a military fortress, quickly became a trading city, it was destroyed by a strong earthquake, but it grew again, rebuilt and is now the largest city in the North Caucasus.
We will walk along the avenues and boulevards of the city, look at it from the height of Tarki-Tau Mountain, and then go to the museum restaurant to have dinner and get to know each other better.
19:00 Welcome dinner at the restaurant.
21:00 Return to the hotel.

Day 2 - Sarykum barkhan, Sulak canyon, boating on the Chirkeysky reservoir
9:00 Departure time.
Today we will start with a visit to the Sarykum dune, probably the warmest place in Dagestan. We will walk along the dune barefoot, and then we will go to the deepest canyon — Sulaksky.

12:00 Sulak Canyon.
A thin blue thread of the river stretches through the mountain range — this is the Sulak Canyon.
It is an amazing sight when you stand at an altitude of 800 meters above sea level and see a river under your feet, at a dizzying depth, along which small boats scurry.
But, we will ride on such boats ourselves, only our skating will be on a huge man—made sea - the Chirkeysky reservoir.

Day 3 - Gunib, Saltinsky waterfall
8:00 Departure time.
The village of Gunib is located on a high mountain of unusual shape, its edges are raised, and in the center there is a depression. The village of Gunib climbs the slope of this mountain.
The fate of this small village is such that many famous people have visited it and even one of the representatives of the imperial family lived here for some time.
Everything related to the history of this village will be told to us at the local museum, and after that we will walk around its sights ourselves.

Day 4 - Khunzakh, Tobot waterfall, Tsada, R. Gamzatov Museum, Stone bowl, visit to the workshop for the manufacture of urbech
Dagestan resembles a huge box filled to the brim with fascinating things.

The Khunzakh plateau, which stretches at an altitude of about two kilometers, attracts travelers with its waterfalls.
11:30 Guided tour.
Here we will visit the house where Rasul Gamzatov grew up. Mountains, people, mountain air, the surrounding beauty — that's what served as inspiration for the poet.
The stone bowl is another mystery of these places, when and why did it appear? Perhaps you can solve this riddle…
Well, how can you not try one of the most delicious and healthy dishes of Dagestan — urbech! Today you will visit the workshop where it is made using ancient technologies and learn about its useful qualities.

Day 5 - Tour of Derbent, Naryn-Kala fortress

The Naryn-Kala fortress appeared on the ancient trade route back in the VI century and since then has always towered over the sprawling city at its foot.
Many centuries have passed over the ancient city, but it continues to live and develop, being both ancient and young. Not every city has such a story in store.

Day 6 - Huchni, master class, Fortress of seven brothers and one sister, visit to the Avar theater
8:00 Departure time.
Today you will have an exciting journey to one of the most ancient villages of Southern Dagestan — Khuchni.
Many centuries ago, a real medieval city was located here, and nowadays Khuchni is known for the art of carpet weaving, craftsmen pass on the secrets of craftsmanship from generation to generation.
Today you will have the opportunity to learn the basics of this ancient craft.
You will see the Fortress of seven brothers and one sister, which was built in the 7th-8th century, enjoy the magnificent scenery of the surrounding area and learn the legend of these places.
In the evening, upon returning to Makhachkala, you will have a rest in the cozy rooms of the hotel.

Day 7 - Irganai reservoir, Untsukul with a master class on making a pendant

The Irganai reservoir is an artificial reservoir that appeared due to the construction of one of the many hydroelectric power plants, but it is so beautiful that no one can drive past and not admire it.
Among the huge variety of traditional crafts, perhaps one stands out for its uniqueness, this is the Untsukul metal carving on wood. Today you will not only see how it is all made, but also try to do something yourself.
