This is a real journey with full immersion in the unique world of Dagestan. A small group of 12-14 people and a wonderful charismatic guide, with whom it is interesting and safe. Delicious local cuisine, fresh fruits, local wines and famous Caucasian hospitality are waiting for you. You will walk through the streets of Derbent, get acquainted with Makhachkala, visit the Sarykum dune and take a boat ride through the reservoir.

Itinerary

Day 1 - Meeting. Sightseeing tour of Makhachkala
Meeting at Makhachkala airport at 15:00.
Transfer to Makhachkala.
Sightseeing tour of Makhachkala (on the first or last day of the tour).
The city of Makhachkala is located at the foot of the Tarki-Tau mountain range, on the shore of the Caspian Sea.
The city is growing and developing, but its old part, small, not at all elegant, still lives its own life.
One of the oldest streets of the city runs along the sea, and on it are century-old houses, courtyards with arched gates and overhanging balconies.
Makhachkala surprises with its wide cultural heritage.

Day 2 - Sarykum dune
Breakfast at the hotel.
Visit to the Sarykum dune.
In the foothills of the Narat-Tube ridge there is an amazing natural monument — the huge sand dune Sarykum (Yellow sand).
Its height is more than 250 meters, and the size and shape of the peaks are constantly changing at the will of the winds.
Transfer to the village of Zubutl.
Boat trip along the Sulak Canyon (30 minutes) or the Chirkeysky reservoir (additional fee).
Lunch at the restaurant (extra charge).
Visit the observation decks overlooking the Sulak Canyon in the village of Dubki.
Sulak Canyon is one of the deepest canyons in the world.
Its depth reaches 1920 meters.
The canyon stretches across the territory of Dagestan for 53 kilometers.
Incredibly beautiful, breathtaking landscapes open up from the observation decks.
Return to the hotel.

Day 3 - Derbent
Breakfast at the hotel.
A tour of Derbent.
Derbent is an open—air museum city, a unique architectural and historical monument, whose military fortifications rightfully stand on a par with the largest fortifications in the world.
Visit to the Naryn-Kala fortress (Sunny Fortress).
The fortress was founded in the IV century BC.
The total length of the walls of Naryn Kala reaches 700 meters, and their thickness is two meters.
The fortress is included in the UNESCO World Heritage List.
A wonderful view of the city opens from the citadel of Naryn-Kala (entrance fee is paid additionally).
Wine tasting at the Derbent Sparkling Wine Factory or the Derbent Wine Company (extra charge).
A visit to the Derbent market.
Return to the hotel.

Day 4 - Ekranoplana Lun. Khuchninsky fortress and Khuchninsky waterfall
Breakfast at the hotel.
Transfer to the village of Avadan.
Inspection of the Lun ekranoplane.
Transfer to the village of Khuchni.
Inspection of the Khuchninsk fortress (Fortress of the Seven Brothers).
The fortress was built in the XVII century, when the peoples of Dagestan were under direct threat of enslavement by Iranian and Turkish conquerors.
There is a legend that 7 brothers and a beautiful sister lived in the fortress.
The fortress offers beautiful views of the village and the surrounding area.
Visit to the Khuchninsky waterfall.
Khuchninsky waterfall is located on the Khanagchai River, at an altitude of 650 m above sea level.
At the foot of the cliff it forms a small lake where you can swim.
Return to Derbent.
Free time.

A wonderful tour with a rich and engaging itinerary. Our guide, Svetlana, was very responsible and did an excellent job, explaining everything in detail. I was pleased with both the hotels and the food. Adding extra lunches was a great decision; it made everything more convenient, and I especially enjoyed the Pomor-style lunch at the Pomor restaurant. The transportation was also comfortable and reliable.
