Ski weekend in the Elbrus region

Approximate calculation of additional expenses in rubles:

1. Instructor services (you can practice on your own or with friends in a group of up to 6 people) – 9000 ₽ / 4 hours of work (full day).
2. Ski passes: from 1800 rubles/day, the cheapest option is to buy online for several days at once.
3. Lunch on the mountain: the cost is about 350-500 rubles / day, you can take sandwiches, thermos, bars with you.
4. Equipment rental (prices may vary slightly):

• skis + poles + boots – 1000-1400 ₽;
• snowboard + boots – 1000-1400 ₽;
• ski/snowboard jacket – 300-400 ₽;
• ski/snowboard pants – 300-400 ₽;

A lesson with an instructor costs from 1,500 to 3,000 rubles/hour. At the same time, from 1 to 8 people can be engaged.

On the first day of skiing, our guide will instruct you about the resort, tell you about safety on the ski slope, and give you some exercises so that you can start skiing on your own.

For further improvement, you can negotiate with the instructor. 
If necessary, our guides will help you find an instructor for your tasks, arrange a convenient time and place for a meeting.

The Elbrus resort is one of the highest in the world, so there is a very long skiing season here. The resort opens at the end of November and is open until the end of spring. At the top of the Gara-bashi –Mir cable car, the ski season is officially closed only in summer.

Elbrus has an artificial snowmaking system for slopes.

There are currently 7 trails on Elbrus: one green (rolling into a clearing, for training beginners), two blue and four red.

All trails are wide enough, with a comfortable slope and are ideal for beginners and quiet skiing.

At the very bottom, near the beginning of the cable car, there is a training slope, where you can learn the basics of descending the track and work out the necessary elements of technology.

Ski / snowboard instructors work at the resort, usually in one or two classes beginners master the necessary minimum in order to start climbing down the slopes of Elbrus on their own.

Snow cover sufficient for skiing and snowboarding on the slopes of Elbrus is formed at the end of November. In winter, sunny days prevail in the Elbrus region. The temperature regime is quite mild, the average temperature in January is -6 °C.

Below, in the area of the village of Terskol, the maximum height of the snow cover is 70-80 cm and is formed by February.

The Elbrus ski resort is the highest in Russia, the height of the beginning of the upper Garabashi – Mir highway is 3840 meters above sea level. 

The resort currently has 12.21 km of trails. Azau – Krugozor – 5.1 km. Krugozor – Mir – 5,11 km. Mir – Garabashi is 2 km away. 

On Mount Elbrus, the lifts include 3 stages of a new gondola-type cable car, 2 stages of a pendulum lift, one chairlift and 2 buggies. 

The new one is a gondola type with 8-seater cabins, 5.23 km long, 3 queues from Azau glade to Garabashi station. 

The old one is of the pendulum type, with carriages with a capacity of up to 20 people, 2 queues from Azau glade (2350 m) to Mir station (3500 m). A chairlift from Mir station (3,500 m) to Garabashi station (3,750 m).
