Itinerary

  • Day 1 - Villages of Vvedenie and Dunilovo, Shuya city, interactive program, master class, treats

10:25 Meeting with the guide in Shuya on the platform at the entrance to the station. The sign "Soul cozy corner".

Boarding the bus (there is free seating on the bus).

Moving to the village of Vvedenie is one of the most interesting villages. According to its history, richness of temple complexes and beauty, it can be attributed to one of the most prominent villages in the Ivanovo region.

It arose at the end of the 14th century at the intersection of the river and the old road from Kostroma to Vladimir. The first mention dates back to 1425 — in the charter of the Nizhny Novgorod Princess Maria, the Nikolo-Shartomsky monastery located here is mentioned.

Located in the village of Vvedenie, St. Nicholas-Shartomsky Monastery is one of the oldest monasteries in Russia.

The monastery had a different appearance in ancient times than it does now. The existing stone five-domed building was built in 1651 and opened on April 27.

The monastery in the Introduction was built in the style of the Byzantine-Russian architectural school. It is an ensemble of church buildings and structures.

Visit the monastery and the monastery shop, where you can buy products from the monastery compound and local farmers.

Departure to the village of Dunilovo.

Not far from Shuya, separated by the river Teza, there are two villages — Dunilovo and Goritsy, which have now become one. Their history is connected with the ancient history of Shuya, with the fate of the Shuisky and Lopukhin families.

The location at the crossroads of roads contributed to the development of trade and crafts, hundreds of merchants of the Pokrovskaya and Tikhonovskaya fairs once gathered here, beautiful temples and rich monasteries were laid here. Dunilovo received the unofficial name "The Second Suzdal".

Here, on a small patch of land, there are 11 temples and 2 monasteries.

Panorama of the village of Dunilovo.

The history of the Dormition nunnery of Dunilovo. The monastery was founded in the XVI century by F.I. Lopukhin, father-in-law of Peter I. The modest wooden monastery was magnificently rebuilt and equipped in the XIX century with the money of the Moscow merchant Karetnikova.

In 1991, he was returned to the Russian Orthodox Church and began to actively rebuild. Now the monastery is in perfect condition, there is an exemplary Orthodox children's gymnasium on the territory, where 30 pupils study and receive education.

    Lunch.

Sightseeing tour of Shuya — an ancient cozy Russian city above the river Teza, famous since the beginning of the XVI century.

Shuya is famous as the birthplace of the "elected tsar" Vasily Shuisky, merchant dynasties, holy icons, the wondrous beauty of the Church of the Resurrection of Christ and the tallest in Russia "candle" bell tower, whose height is 106 m.

And also Shuisky harmonicas, Shuisky chintz, Shuisky embroidery and Shuisky liqueurs were famous all over the country. The object of our pride, our history, was collected bit by bit here and is carefully preserved.

    Visit to the calico workshop.

You will plunge into the world of Russian history, where you will not only see, but also try on the roles of Royalty and princes who once decided the fate of our wonderful Shuya. And also what drinks were served to the guests in Russia.
