The museum-estate of A.N. Ostrovsky "Shchelykovo".

The estate of the great Russian playwright Alexander Nikolaevich Ostrovsky is a place that he compared "with the best places in Switzerland and Italy", a place that became his lifelong love. Here he worked hard and fruitfully, received numerous guests, and found his last refuge here. His legacy is carefully preserved here and Shchelykov traditions are maintained.

You will visit the writer's house. It was in this house that A.N. Ostrovsky lived, coming to the estate for the summer. Visiting Shchelykovo for the first time, the playwright speaks with admiration about the house, noting that it is "surprisingly good both from the outside by the originality of the architecture and inside by the convenience of the premises."

The Church of St. Nicholas in Berezhki. The playwright himself, his father Nikolai Fedorovich, his wife Maria Vasilyevna and daughter Maria Alexandrovna Chatelain are buried here.

The Sobolev House Ethnographic Museum. A former Ostrovsky serf, a talented carpenter and carver, Sobolev fulfilled Ostrovsky's orders, made furniture for the manor house. 

Currently, the Sobolev house houses an ethnographic exposition "The way of life and traditions of our ancestors", which presents crafts, crafts, life and traditions of peasants of the XIX century, characteristic of our places.

The Volzhsky Boulevard of Kineshma is a visiting card of the city, it is rightfully considered one of the most picturesque places in the region.

The center of the Merchant's Revelry program is a wide festive fair that unfolds on the upper and lower parts of the embankment. Masters of applied and artistic creativity present products made of clay and ceramics, wood carvings, paintings on birch bark, handmade soap, artistic products made of wool. 

Kineshma has always inspired painters from all over the country, therefore, an exhibition and sale of works by Kineshma artists is traditionally held at the Volzhsky Boulevard festival.

Stylized interactive platforms, photo zones, master classes in vine weaving, pottery and ancient dances, autumn installations, musical and theatrical performances, games and quizzes, performances by theater groups are created for the guests of the holiday. 

In the evening, citizens and guests are invited to a fire show and a disco on the boulevard.

A 40-minute walk on a small boat along the wide expanse of the river with access to the arrow of the Volga and the Kineshemka river. Only the waves, the sky, the wind and the speed and the steep Volga shores passing by. Moments of absolute freedom and intoxicating happiness.

The city has retained its provincial charm and the atmosphere of a county merchant town – one-story and two-story houses of merchants and burghers of the XIX century are organically complemented by mansions of merchant manufacturers, majestic public buildings, temple ensembles. 

A tour of the historical center will allow you to see the majestic cathedrals and temples, the wealth of mansions, the famous Volzhsky Boulevard, the grandiose Trinity-Assumption Cathedral, founded back in 1745, an example of Russian church architecture of the XVIII century. 

Nearby is the magnificent openwork bell tower of the cathedral, built in 1798. And the Kineshma Red Rows are a monument of Russian architectural eclecticism, where everything is mixed up: Romanesque monumentality, the rigor of the classics and the elegance of modernity...
