Route: Gvardeysk, Tapiau castle — village Lower reaches, Waldau Castle — Fort No. 1 "Stein".

All the owners of the lands of Prussia sought to demonstrate their power and strength in stone, erecting grandiose structures that served both as residences and fortresses.

The past centuries have cast a veil of oblivion over the names of proud rulers, but the ancient walls continue to rise majestically above the lands of East Prussia.

On our tour, we will be able to touch a bygone era and appreciate the grandeur of the designs embodied in castles and fortresses.

We will see Tapiau Castle, which was a ducal residence, then an orphanage for the poor, and then became a prison for many years.

Then we will go to Waldau Castle, where we will learn not only about the history of the castle built by the Teutonic Knights, but also walk along the path of Peter the Great, who stayed at the castle during the Great Embassy.

And then we will see the defensive structure of the XIX century — Fort No. 1 "Stein", part of the "Konigsberg Night Feather Bed" — a unique protective ring designed to make Konigsberg an impregnable fortress.

For centuries, the shores of the Baltic Sea were inhabited by harsh fishermen and warriors, one of whose crafts was the extraction of amber. At the beginning of the 19th century, the famous physician Friedrich Kessel came to the conclusion that tarry air, sea waters and mud baths bring more benefits to patients than bloodletting and potions, and since then villages on the shores of the Baltic Sea have rapidly become fashionable resorts.

The traditions of a healthy and pleasant vacation "on the waters" have been preserved to this day, and it is with them that we will introduce you on our tour.

We will visit the beautiful Rauschen (Svetlogorsk), which still remembers the rustle of long skirts and the clatter of canes of the aristocratic public, and the small Palminiken (Yantarny), whose resort fame came already in the 21st century, after the conquest of its beaches by the "Blue Flag".

You will see with your own eyes how different and very beautiful resort towns can be, and you will also visit a real factory, where you will get acquainted with the secrets of amber extraction and processing, which, just like hundreds of years ago, gives people the Baltic Sea.
