The Curonian Spit National Park is an amazingly wonderful place to relax in nature: the purest sea air filled with pine phytoncides, the greenery of the forest and the chirping of birds, the tranquility of the dune landscape and the vast expanses of the Baltic Sea and the Curonian Lagoon.

You will have the opportunity to recharge your health by walking in the Dancing Forest among the magical "dancing" trees, look for amber on the sand by the sea and climb the highest dune — the height of Efa.

After that, you will have a walk through the most beautiful resort town of Zelenogradsk. Ancient resort architecture, a special atmosphere of relaxation and pleasure! It's impossible not to fall in love with this city!

They are also very fond of cats here: it all started with the cat museum in the old water tower, and now the city houses are painted with a cat theme, a cute urban sculpture with cats, a cat town with a catfair and, of course, live fuzzies on the streets of the city.

After the tour, in your free time, you can take a walk on the promenade by the sea, climb to the observation deck of the water tower (also known as the cat museum) or visit the museum of Resort Fashion (I purchase entrance tickets to museums on my own).

If you don't want to leave, you can stay — it's easy to return to Kaliningrad.

In good weather, Zelenogradsk beach awaits you and a stunning sunset over the sea, which you can admire through the windows of a cafe or restaurant on the promenade (delicious and romantic!)

Since its foundation in the 13th century, the city has lived for 691 years under the name Konigsberg. It began its history during the Crusades with a fortress castle of the Teutonic Order and, in case of a possible future war, was rebuilt and strengthened in the following centuries.

Since the second half of the 19th century in Europe, Konigsberg has become a fortress city of the first rank.

In today's Kaliningrad, a large number of ancient Konigsberg fortifications have been preserved.

You will have the opportunity to visit one of the forts of the outer defensive belt of the city. You will visit Fort 1, one of the most preserved. After going through its premises, you will learn how such fortresses were built.

The reliability and monumentality of these walls, the thoroughness and thoughtfulness of the citadel to the smallest detail surprise and inspire respect for the military fortification engineers and builders who designed and built such fortresses.

Fortification was considered a separate science, and only a few European countries could boast of their fortification school — Prussia was one of the strongest.

Driving through the streets of Kaliningrad, you will also see the defensive structures of the inner defensive ring: ancient gates, bastions, ramparts, moats, the Kronprinz defensive barracks, the Don and Wrangel towers.

You will also learn how the Red Army stormed the fortress city in April 1945. The complexity of this operation was highly appreciated by the leadership of the Soviet Union and the high command of our troops: a separate medal "For the Capture of Konigsberg" was established.

During the tour, you will learn about the heroism of our soldiers and see the monuments erected in their honor. You will learn about the storming of Konigsberg by visiting the panorama exhibition "Konigsberg 45 — the last Assault" at the Kaliningrad Museum of History and Art.

You will have the opportunity to see Neuhausen Castle being restored in Guryevsk, which was part of the nearest medieval defense line of Konigsberg (now Kaliningrad), then it was the seat of the cathedral chapter (supreme church Council) of the Diocese of Zamland, later in the XVI century it will become the residence of the Duchess, the wife of Duke Albrecht, the great ruler of Prussia.

You will also stop for a photo break in front of the modern Nesselbeck castle in the village. Orlovka, which was built as a comfortable hotel and a brewery restaurant in the knight's style. You will definitely want to come back here, maybe for beer baths at the castle spa, or maybe for a jousting show tournament on one of the evenings of your vacation.

Svetlogorsk is a popular resort town surrounded by greenery, the botanical garden city has preserved its historical buildings with villas and hotels, which are worthily complemented by modern architecture.

During the walking tour, you will see the symbol of the place — the water tower; the fabulous organ hall building (formerly the Catholic chapel "Maria-Star of the Sea"); the larch park with the sculpture of the famous German sculptor G. The city of Baltiysk is a seaside port city, a naval base of the Baltic Fleet. All this determines the flavor and spirit of the place.
