Day 1 - Arrival in Kaliningrad. City sightseeing tour

In the 19th century, the city of Tilsit hosted a meeting of the rulers of three states, which summed up the first stage of the Napoleonic wars and determined the policies of several important European countries at once.
You will learn about this event at the Tilsit World Museum: You will have the opportunity to immerse yourself in that era with its tastes and fashion, get to know in detail the personalities of the Russian Emperor Alexander I, the French Emperor Napoleon Bonaparte and the royal couple of Prussia Friedrich Wilhelm III and his charming wife, Queen Louise.
An elegant monument was erected in the Jacobsruhe city park in honor of the "queen of hearts". To mark the centenary of this event, described in Leo Tolstoy's famous novel War and Peace, the Queen Louise Bridge was built over the Neman River. The house where the Russian emperor lived during the days of peace has been preserved in the city.
You will have the opportunity to stroll through the streets with the most beautiful examples of ancient architecture. The city is decorated with the symbol of the pre—war city - the bronze moose of L. Vordermayer and the monument to the Tilsit tram, of course, the monument to V.I. Lenin against the background of the Soviet Rossiya hotel and an exhibition of military equipment.
The city is the birthplace of a famous and popular cheese variety in Europe. Tilsit cheese is also produced by cheese factories in Russia and Belarus. You will have the opportunity to learn the history of the invention of this cheese.

Two of the most beautiful places on the seashore — Yantarny and Svetlogorsk will enchant you and will forever remain in your heart! Places where many people in our country tend to go on vacation.
Yantarny Beach is one of the best in Russia. Since 2016, this has been confirmed annually by awarding it the blue flag (the highest quality mark for beaches).
And Svetlogorsk is an All—Russian health resort with a large number of sanatoriums and sanatorium-resort type institutions, where you can combine a vacation by the sea with health improvement.
Yantarny is a place of amber mining, where the world's largest sunstone deposit is located.
You will definitely learn all about amber by visiting a private enterprise engaged in stone processing and jewelry production. You will have the opportunity to purchase amber products where they are produced.
In the past, Yantarny was called Palmniken, a place with a history. You will see the architectural "pearls" that adorn the place: the old Lutheran church (today the Russian Orthodox Church of the Icon of the Kazan Mother of God), the 5* Schloss Hotel building (formerly the home of a wealthy mining owner).
You will reach the sea through the park named after him. Moritz Becker with century-old trees.
Svetlogorsk is a popular resort town surrounded by greenery, the botanical garden city has preserved its historical buildings with villas and hotels, which are worthily complemented by modern architecture.

The Curonian Spit is an amazing corner of nature, a peninsula where, on a narrow strip of land between the Baltic Sea and the Curonian Lagoon, you can see the greenery of the forest, the swamp, and the dunes — the largest sandy embankment in the world.
In 1987, the Russian part of the Curonian Spit became a national park — a protected area, and in 2000 the Curonian Spit was included in the UNESCO World Heritage List in the nomination "cultural landscape".
You have the opportunity to relax in nature, enjoy the beauty of the place, breathe in the purest sea air filled with phytoncides of the coniferous forest, take a walk along the Baltic Sea coast, admire the views of the dune landscape and the Curonian Lagoon.
The world's first ornithological station was opened in 1901 on the Curonian Spit. And our Russian ornithologists are the successors of those first explorers of the bird world.
Bird lovers will be able to visit the ringing station, where the world's largest bird traps are located, learn about the work of ornithologists, and see live birds (which will be caught on this day).

In hot summer weather, you can take beach accessories with you. There are no changing cabins on the beaches of the Curonian Spit! It is recommended to wear a swimsuit at the hotel when leaving for the sea.
