The city of Tilsit, now Sovetsk on the banks of the Neman River, entered European history as a meeting place in 1807 of the rulers of the Russian Empire, France and the Kingdom of Prussia — Emperor Alexander I, Napoleon Bonaparte and the royal couple of Prussia, King Frederick William III and Queen Louise.
To mark the 100th anniversary of the signing of the peace, the Queen Louise Bridge was built over the Neman River — the symbol of the city.
You will walk along the river embankment, approach the house where the Russian Emperor Alexander I stayed during the days of the signing of the peace.
The main pedestrian street of the old town will lead you to the new museum of the city "Tilsit World", where the atmosphere of the XIX century is recreated in rooms with authentic antiques.

Also, while walking around the city, you will see the main sights of the city: the monument to Queen Louise in the old city park, the sculpture of an elk by L. Vordermeier, as well as monuments important to our national history: the monument to the Soviet soldier-liberator, V.I. Lenin and the first Soviet settlers who moved here from the Second World War and raised this region from the post-war devastation.
You will feel the magical beauty of the ancient buildings, miraculously preserved during the battles.
