Gastronomic tour to Kaliningrad

We have breakfast at the hotel in the morning and set ourselves up for a very eventful, beautiful day! We are waiting for a sightseeing tour of Kaliningrad, the former Konigsberg, the center of East Prussia.

We will walk around the city and see all the main sights of Kaliningrad: University Square, the ruins of the Royal Castle, Kant's grave, synagogue, sculpture Alley, Wooden and Honey Bridges.

Let's take a walk around Kneiphof Island, located right in the center of Kaliningrad, and find out how it developed and who its most famous inhabitants are. We will be able to understand the character of the city and immerse ourselves in its interesting Russian-German history.

We will also attend an organ mini-concert in the stunningly beautiful Cathedral. The largest organ in Russia is located here, and together with the choral organ it forms the only organ complex in the country.

After the concert, we are expected to attend a gastronomic master class, where we will prepare Baltic cuisine dishes under the guidance of a chef. For an aperitif, meat and fish appetizers are waiting for us, accompanied by a glass of sparkling wine!

Then we will prepare a spicy pelamida stroganina with a signature sauce, pickled onions and crispy croutons. Let's taste this dish with a glass of fresh white wine.

We will also prepare a fragrant lamb loin with pomegranate sauce and young asparagus, which we will serve on the table with a glass of full-bodied red wine. Enjoy it!

After the master class, we will immerse ourselves in the atmosphere of the Middle Ages during a fascinating tour of Neuhausen Castle, one of the oldest in the Kaliningrad region.

A journey through the ages awaits us: from chivalrous exploits to secret rooms, from authentic artifacts to legends shrouding ancient walls.

Next, we go to a cheese tasting at a private cheese factory, which makes craft cheese according to European recipes, using only natural products.

We will find out which drinks are suitable for a particular type of cheese, learn how to distinguish them, and share recipes for interesting dishes with us.

And of course, we will try several varieties of cheese and taste fruit mustard and jams. It's very tasty!

After the cheese factory, we will go to the ancient German brewery, once the largest in East Prussia!

During the tour, we will find ourselves in one of the rooms of the old factory, where modern production is now located, and descend into the dungeons of Konigsberg.

We will learn all about how beer is brewed, how malt grows, what it tastes like, what hops look like, and what types of hops exist. We will end the tour with a tasting of five varieties of freshly brewed beer.

In the evening we return to our cozy hotel to relax and replenish our strength.

Fresh Baltic sea air awaits us tomorrow!

Today, after breakfast at our hotel, we will leave for the Curonian Spit National Park, the highlight of the Kaliningrad region!

We will find ourselves in an amazing place where sand dunes side by side with snow-white
sand, and moose and wild boars live in dense forests.

On the one hand — the endless Baltic Sea, on the other — the calm Curonian Lagoon. We will learn the history of the dunes, admire them from the heights of Muller and Eph and walk through the mysterious Dancing Forest.

The route is designed to harmoniously alternate hiking along scenic trails with traveling by minibus — this will allow you to see maximum beauty and enjoy the harmony of nature without unnecessary fatigue.

Then we will go to the resort town of Zelenogradsk, a former German town where every street breathes history.

Elegant old villas, well-maintained promenades and picturesque views of the coast are waiting for us.

We will stroll through the atmospheric streets, enjoy the tranquility of the seaside town and discover its unique charm.

And we immediately head to the Baltic cuisine restaurant for lunch — it is located in the historic building of the former German post office of the 19th century.

The chef will present original interpretations of traditional recipes, where the main role is given to local products.

First, we will taste the Baltic creamy fish soup. The delicate creamy broth harmoniously combines two types of fish: juicy salmon and walleye. Only the purity of local products and a delicate balance that allows you to feel the real taste of the sea.

For a hot meal, the chef will serve us a famous dish from the cuisine of East Prussia. —
Konigsberg bedbugs made from beef, fragrant venison and tender Baltic fillet
herring. Contrast and originality in every piece.

It's time to taste branded tinctures of our own production, which will be served with perfect gastronomic pairs! Cherry with cinnamon, Marzipan, Black currant and Borodino — we try and choose which one we like the most.

After lunch, we will walk along the main street with Prussian houses and along the promenade along the sea.

The walk takes us back to the heyday of Kranz, where the Königsbergers were improving their health. We will see the water tower, taste the water from the Queen Louise pump room and understand why Zelenogradsk bears the title of "capital of cats".

In the late afternoon we will go to Svetlogorsk, the most central resort of the "Russian Baltic States" with a special atmosphere of measured relaxation.

For dinner, we will be waiting in the chamber restaurant, where fish delicacies and dishes are served.

Let's start with the original aperitif — sprat paste with tapioca chips.

In the second course, we will try a perfectly cooked halibut steak with a velvety berblanc sauce.

The aromatic German Riesling wine will serve as a harmonious accompaniment.

We will finish the dinner with a traditional apple strudel — warm, fragrant, with a thin crispy crust and a juicy filling of apple slices. Dessert is served with an unusual addition — ice cream with notes of Borodino bread.

After dinner, we check into a modern spa hotel in the center of Svetlogorsk.

We will spend two nights here.

Today, after breakfast at our hotel, we will go to explore Svetlogorsk.

We will take a walk and see the city together with a local guide, who will conduct an eventful tour for us.

A leisurely walk will take about two hours. Winding through the narrow streets, let's talk about the historical value of this place, about the traditions and distinguished guests of the elite German resort.

There will also be places of worship: a water tower, sculptures and the world's largest sundial.

Then we leave for Yantarny, the only place in the world where commercial amber mining is carried out.

We will visit the interactive museum of the amber plant and learn more about the extraction of amber, its properties and how to distinguish the original from a fake.

Today's lunch will be held in an elegant restaurant within the walls of the former hunting castle of King Frederick I of Prussia. The atmosphere of an ancient park awaits us and a fascinating view of the Baltic Sea directly from the windows of the historic building.

Our first course is Vitello Tonnato in Baltic, a sophisticated interpretation of Italian classics. The most delicate slices of farm beef, aged in aromatic herbs, are complemented with a silky tuna cream sauce.

As the main course, we will be served the "gastronomic star" of the establishment — the most delicate foie gras on an airy brioche toast with caramelized pear with Porto sauce.

The dish is perfectly complemented with a glass of full-bodied red wine.

After lunch, we will go to the only beach in Russia marked with the "Blue Flag" — a wide strip of the purest sand and a well-thought-out infrastructure.

Take a deep breath of the fresh Baltic air, enjoy the vastness and soothing sound of the surf — an ideal place to relax and contemplate the sea surface.

Next, we will go to the westernmost city of Russia — Baltiysk, the once formidable German citadel of Pillau.

An exciting adventure awaits us — sailing to the Baltic Sea by speedboat!

We will explore the warships, admire the graceful German buildings and feed the graceful swans by the water. We will find out what historical events unfolded in these places and why Baltiysk remained a closed city for a long time.

In the evening we return to Svetlogorsk — a dinner with a special gastronomic accent awaits us.

The renowned chef Rustam Tangirov, executive president of the St. Petersburg Chefs Club and a regular host of culinary programs, is responsible for the cuisine. The menu includes original dishes made from local products.

The first course will be served Baltic tapas, a mini snack with smoked eel, lightly salted walleye, sprat and horse mackerel on Estonian toasted bread. An appetizer embodying the spirit of the coast.

The second course is the chef's signature dish: wontons with Baltic fish and shrimp. The delicate hand-made Chinese dumplings are filled with a juicy blend of fresh Baltic fish and selected shrimp.

The ideal accompaniment will be the dry Verdejo wine from Spain, with its citrus-mineral palette and vibrant acidity.

For dessert, we are waiting for another exquisite creation — a cheesecake made of fried chocolate in velour under an airy meringue with meringue.

After dinner, we return to our hotel and relax after a busy day.

You can relax in the spa complex at our hotel or relax on the equipped beach.

Or you can come up with your own program and stroll through the beautiful streets of Svetlogorsk again: walk along the boardwalk, breathe in the Baltic Sea air or visit fairs with local delicacies.
