Volcanoes of Kamchatka

Breakfast.

Transfer to the foot of the Mutnovsky volcano (100 km).

A visit to the summer thermal springs located on the northern slope of the Mutnovsky volcano. The walking part of the route is about 40 minutes in one direction.

Mutnovsky volcano is one of the oldest active volcanoes, having one of the largest magmatic reservoirs in Kamchatka. 

But despite this, there have been no lava eruptions of Mutnovsky for a very long time. 

However, the volcano has been constantly active, spewing steam over the past centuries. 

Steam is not always a peaceful combination. Sometimes steam can accumulate in some layer of the earth, and then burst through with an explosion. 

This is what is called a phreatic eruption, when there is no lava, but huge volumes of steam escape and explode the host rocks. 

There are such explosion craters all over the world, and one of the striking examples is the Summer thermal springs.

It is here that you can see what our planet looked like at the stage of its origin, when hundreds of thousands of volcanoes erupted on the surface of the earth at the same time. 

Unique thermal algae and microorganisms from prehistoric times have been preserved in the thermal manifestations of the Summer springs.

Numerous bubbling boiling springs, steam—gas jets, mud boilers and volcanoes - all this is surrounded by rich greenery and Alpine flowers (according to the season).

Tourists call this place the Little Valley of Geysers.

The Mutnovskaya geothermal power plant is located next to the springs. 

On its territory there is a small pool with thermal water, built by employees of the station. 

Very often, but not guaranteed, those who wish can swim in it.

After the tour, transfer to Petropavlovsk- Kamchatsky / Yelizovo.

Dinner in a cafe or restaurant in the city (not included in the price).

Overnight at the hotel.

Breakfast. 

Transfer (90 km) to Gorely volcano. 

A simple ascent to the volcano (2.5–3 hours).

Inspection of craters. 

A snack with dry rations. 

Descent from the volcano to the car (2 hours).

Lunch. Return to the hotel. 

Dinner in a cafe or restaurant in the city (not included in the price). 

Overnight at the hotel.

After breakfast at the hotel, we leave for the area of the Vachkajec mountain range.

73 km on asphalt, 12 km on a dirt road, then 3 km through the forest on foot and we reach the mountain lake Tahkoloch, which is comfortably located in a small valley between two ridges. 

After admiring the beautiful views, we continue along the stream with cascades of waterfalls from the purest spring water. 

We continue to move upwards — and now we are in a mountain circus, surrounded by beautiful outlier rocks. 

After taking a little walk around the mountain circus, we go to watch another masterpiece. 

We go down, greeting the gophers evrazhek, who are already familiar to us, and, climbing over the rocks across the river, we approach the waterfall. 

After watching the water crash down from a stone cliff, dividing into separate jets and many crystal drops as it falls, feeling cool and washing with splashes of the purest water, we return to the car. 

We have lunch with lunch boxes. 

We return to the hotel.

In the evening, we have dinner in a cafe or restaurant in the city (not included in the price). 

We spend the night at the hotel.

Breakfast.

Transfer to the seaport of Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky.

A boat trip along the Avacha Bay with an inspection of the Three Brothers rocks and access to the Pacific Ocean to the island. The oldies.

During the walk we will be able to admire the steep capes and cliffs, various seabirds and animals (seals, sea otters, sea lions, killer whales, etc.) and of course views of the "home" volcanoes. 

Everyone will be able to test themselves in sea fishing.

A hot lunch on board the ship.

After the tour, transfer to the hotel. 

Free time. 

In the evening, dinner at a cafe or restaurant in the city (not included in the price). 

Overnight at the hotel.

Duration of the tour: 5 hours.

There is a very early check-out on this day (around 6 am), so the hotel can only provide lunch boxes for breakfast.

Transfer to the foot of the Avacha volcano.

Climbing into the crater of the Avacha volcano.

The ascent lasts 6-8 hours and does not require mountaineering skills.

Lunch with dry rations during the ascent.

An hour-long tour of the crater.

Inspection of the lava plug that sealed the crater after the eruption in 1991

Observation of the fumarole activity of the volcano.

Return to the car (descent lasts 3-4 hours). 

Transfer to the hotel in the city.
