On the penultimate day before the end of the tour, guests are offered a choice of two routes for an additional fee (booked in advance, at least 10 days before the tour):
- excursion to the Valley of geysers with a visit to the Uzon volcano and the thermal springs of Nalychevo;
- excursion to the Kuril Lake with a visit to the Ksudach volcano and the Khodutka thermal waters.
Both routes are long-distance and involve helicopter flight. Both offer an unforgettable sight and the most beautiful views.
Everyone seems to have heard about the Valley of Geysers.
It is a natural monument of world importance, one of the most impressive places on Earth.
Located in a canyon in the Geysernaya River basin, the valley is rich in various outlets of thermal waters and steam.
There are bubbling mud baths, but most of all there are pulsating fountains shooting hot water from the bowels of the earth.
The Valley of Geysers has its own ecosystem, which is being carefully studied by scientists. There are organisms and plants here that can't be found anywhere else. In order not to harm the fragile nature of the valley, tourists move only along specially paved trails.
After admiring the Valley of Geysers, tourists arrive by helicopter directly into the caldera of the Uzon volcano.
It has a diameter of 10 km and, at first glance, looks like a plain. However, upon closer acquaintance, all sorts of wonders of volcanic origin open up – hot fumaroles, mud boilers and beautiful lakes filled with water or acid, which makes the water acquire a beautiful bright color.
Therefore, while in the caldera, you need to behave very carefully. It also has its own ecosystem, in which animals are embedded. You can see both small species, foxes and even bears. When meeting with a bear, it is necessary to create as much noise as possible, this will scare off the clubfoot.
After such adventures, it's time to relax and unwind. In the Nalychevo Nature Park everything is set up for this.
There are hot springs where you can swim and get a boost of energy. They also have a healing effect.
After dinner, the group returns to the city to spend the night at the hotel.
The second route to Kuril Lake is just as interesting as the first one.
This protected place is famous for its beauty and the fact that you can always meet bears here.
There are especially many of these animals in August, when the big spawning begins. The Ozernaya River flows into Kuril Lake, and its mouth is just the place that connects the lake with the ocean, and this is the only way for spawning fish to get to fresh water.
At this place there is a scientific research base, whose specialists study fish and monitor the spawning process. They willingly acquaint tourists with their work and talk about the habits and lifestyle of the animals living here.
After leaving the shore of Kuril Lake, travelers fly to the explosion-destroyed caldera of the Ksudach volcano, flying around the impressive peaks of the Karymsky and Maly Semyachik volcanoes along the way.
Several craters can be observed in the caldera, one of them has a Hot lake, around which tourists take a walk. The views that open up invariably delight everyone who sees them.
A pleasant and relaxing end to the day is a visit to the Khodutka hot springs, bathing in which restores strength.
After dinner, the group returns to the place of overnight stay.
