Itinerary

  • Day 1 - Snowmobile route through the Karelian taiga

Meeting at the Sortavala train station.

We recommend purchasing tickets for train No. 160Bc upon arrival from Moscow.

After meeting at the train station, you will have breakfast in a cafe and go to the starting point of the snowmobile route (no more than an hour on the way).

You will listen to a safety briefing and pick up snowmobile equipment.

An exciting winter route through the Karelian taiga awaits you (double accommodation on a snowmobile, drivers require category B license).

The route is of medium difficulty, it is desirable for drivers to have experience driving a snowmobile or ATV in off-road conditions.

The snowmobile route will take about 5 hours. You will see abandoned Finnish villages, ancient watermills, frozen waterfalls. The culmination of the trip will be a visit to the marble quarry, where you can take photos against the background of huge blocks of marble.

On the way, a snack with hot tea and sandwiches will be organized for you.

After the end of the route, you will hand over your snowmobile equipment and go to the pier on the shore of Lake Ladoga, from where you will have a short transfer by airboat (10-15 minutes) to the island located in the very center of the Ladoga skerries.

You will stay in the geo-domes and have dinner with Karelian cuisine.

You will spend the night in cozy hemispherical tents surrounded by a pine forest.
