Christmas in Karelia. 4 days in the "Berry Village"

After an early breakfast in the complex's restaurant (buffet) You can continue your vacation in the cabin or take a walk around the surroundings of the Berry Village.

In the afternoon, you will have a real winter picnic lunch by the campfire (if the weather is good).

In the warmth of a live fire, it is especially delicious to taste traditional Karelian wickets and fish, warm up with hot tea and enjoy leisurely conversations.

Free time at the base.

If desired, you can visit the Russian bath or the furako bath on the shore of the strait, rent skis, snowshoes and other equipment for active pastime (for an additional fee, check prices at the reception desk) or relax in the rooms.

You can take part in a snowmobile trip (for an additional fee) and go on a two-hour snowmobile safari on the island of Riekkalansaari (double occupancy on a snowmobile, category B license is required for drivers).

Before the start, you will receive a safety briefing and pick up snowmobile equipment.

Riekkalansaari Island is the largest island of the Ladoga Skerries with a unique nature: cliffs with gloomy gorges, long plains covered with forests, swamps and meadows.

Dinner at the complex's restaurant (buffet).

In the evening, we will continue to get acquainted over board games and socializing in a restaurant or around a campfire (depending on weather conditions).

The base has its own collection of games that can be freely used, so the evening will be easy and relaxed, with conversations and laughter.

You will spend the night in cozy cabins with all the amenities.

In the morning, immediately after breakfast, you will have some free time, which you can spend at your discretion.

Next, a master class on making wickets, a traditional Karelian pastry, will be organized for you.

The keeper of Karelian traditions will share the secrets of dough preparation and proper molding, as well as tell you about the main ingredient of a successful wicket: various filling options.

You will cook them yourself, and during lunch you will be able to try them!

Under the guidance of the master, you will make a Karelian amulet with your own hands for yourself or as a gift to a loved one, which will protect you from evil, bring good luck, health and well-being in the New Year.

You will have breakfast at the restaurant on the base, and you will have free time: you can walk around the territory or relax in your room.

The cabins will be vacated at 12:00.

After lunch at the Berry Village, you will go to the Ruskeala Mountain Park. A guided land tour awaits you here.

The Ruskeala marble quarry is a monument of cultural heritage of Russia (for an additional fee it is possible to visit the underground part of the canyon). Development here began in 1765.

The walls of the famous St. Isaac's Cathedral, Ladozhskaya and Primorskaya metro stations in St. Petersburg are decorated with Ruskeal marble.

The quarry is a huge system of underground tunnels and tunnels connected by vertical shafts. Most of them were flooded after the Great Patriotic War, and the quarry turned into an amazingly beautiful lake with turquoise-tinged water, the transparency of which reaches 15-18 meters.

The tour will introduce you to the history of this place, and then you will have free time to devote to walks in the park or choose other activities available in the park.

On the way from the park, we stop at the Sortavala railway station, where you can leave your luggage in the luggage room (if desired, for an additional fee).

In the evening, you will have free time in Sortavala. You can have dinner on your own at any cafe or restaurant you like, buy souvenirs and stroll around the city.

Departure by evening trains from the railway station in Sortavala is at 20:52 by night train No. 160A, going through St. Petersburg to Moscow.

Return tickets must be purchased for trains departing from Sortavala no earlier than 18:00.
