Itinerary

Day 1 - Snowmobile safari on the island of Riekkalansaari and the surrounding area
08:20 Meeting at the railway station in Sortavaly.
Transfer to the Yagodnaya Village country complex, which is located on two islands of Lake Ladoga separated by the strait, breakfast.
09:00 is the recommended arrival time at the Yagodnaya Village country complex.
An exciting snowmobile route through the island of Riekkalansaari and the surrounding area awaits you (double occupancy on a snowmobile, category B license is required for drivers). Before the start, you will receive a safety briefing and pick up snowmobile equipment.
10:00 a.m. Start of the snowmobile route.
Riekkalansaari Island is the largest island of the Ladoga Skerries with a unique nature: cliffs with gloomy gorges, long plains covered with forests, swamps and meadows.
The route of average difficulty takes about 6 hours, and it is advisable for drivers to have experience driving a snowmobile or ATV in off-road conditions.
A real winter picnic lunch will be organized for you on the way. Try the dishes of Karelian cuisine, warm up with hot tea.
After completing the route, you will return to the country complex "Berry Village". A delicious dinner will be waiting for you at the base.
You will have free time in the evening.
If desired, you can visit the furako sauna on the shore of the strait (for an additional fee), rent skis, snowshoes and other equipment for active pastime (for an additional fee) or relax in the rooms.
You will spend the night in cozy cabins with all the amenities in the room.

Day 2 - Snowmobile route to the observation deck. Bastion Historical Park
After breakfast, you will embark on an exciting snowmobile route.
The route of average difficulty takes about 3 hours, and it is advisable for drivers to have experience driving a snowmobile or ATV in off-road conditions.
You will climb to the observation deck on foot on snowshoes (about 20 minutes on the way).
The culmination of the route will be the exit to the observation deck. From a height of just over 40 meters, we admire magnificent landscapes of fields, Ladoga Bay, an inland lake and a well-inhabited island.
Lunch is held in the country complex "Berry village".
Transfer to Sortavala.
You will go on an excursion to the Bastion Historical Park, a cultural and educational center of the "living history" format.
Here you will try on the role of a Viking in the Black Bear Fortress Museum, immerse yourself in the history of the Soviet-Finnish conflicts in the Four Fronts Museum, and visit the Stone Age eco-playground, a natural space with petroglyphs on stones.
You will have the opportunity to take photos in historical costumes and participate in master classes.
After the tour, you will have free time in Sortavala, during which you can have dinner at your favorite cafe or restaurant, buy souvenirs and stroll around the city.
The program ends at 18:00/19:00, depending on the selected train.
Departure by evening trains from Sortavala railway station: at 18:45 Lastochka to St. Petersburg, at 20:36 night train No. 160 going through St. Petersburg to Moscow.

The tour involves accommodation in the country complex "Berry village" on the shore of the strait between the islands of Onttolansaari and Riekkalansaari.

The cost of the tour for 1 person with double accommodation on a snowmobile and double accommodation in a house is 48,000 rubles / person.

The surcharge for single occupancy in the house is 10,000 rubles/person (optional).

The surcharge for a single snowmobile landing is 16,000 rubles/person (optional).

You will live in the country complex "Berry Village" on the shore of the strait between the islands of Onttolansaari and Riekkalansaari.

On the territory of the complex there are:

a restaurant where breakfast, lunch and dinner will be served for you according to the program above
inside there is a dining and tea area (hot and cold water, tea, coffee, sweets are always freely available), as well as a relaxation area with a fireplace and board games;
30 cozy houses, with a capacity of 2 people. Each of them has transformer beds – all single beds, which can be combined if desired – with bed linen and towels, a terrace, a wardrobe, as well as sockets, a private bathroom and a mini-refrigerator;
Furako bathhouse on the shore of the strait – heated open wooden font;
Russian bathhouse;

It's important to know

Based on the experience of winter tours, we ask you to carefully prepare for the trip.

Be sure to take with you:

hygienic lipstick;
a greasy face cream. Frost cream "Morozko" (sold at a pharmacy);
the header;
A scarf and warm gloves or mittens are a must, even if you don't wear them in everyday life.;
the higher the shoes, the better, boots, boots;
warm tracksuit (ski suit optional) or separate pants and a sweatshirt;
the socks are high and some are at least woolen.

We do not recommend wearing sneakers, heeled boots, jeans, fur coats, and thin/cold jackets.

It will be cooler for the passenger on the way, so it's worth dressing warmly.
