The Attraction of Ladoga in Karelia

After breakfast at glamping, you will have a guided walking tour (about 3 km) deep into Havus Island.

You will take a nature trail through the Karelian taiga.

You will see geological rocks that can be called the "backbone of the earth": a glacier passing through the territory of Ladoga exposed very ancient stone outcrops, which are up to 2.5 billion years old.

You will learn a lot of interesting facts about the local places: about Finnish families and the history of the Northern Ladoga region, about the peculiarities of forest species, about the animals that live here and much more.

The culmination of the route will be the exit to the Haukkariutta rock ("falcon reef"). From a height of more than 40 meters you will have a wonderful view of the Ladoga skerries.

After the walk, you will have a picnic lunch in the forest at an equipped place. You will try the freshly baked trout.

After the picnic, you will finish the hiking route and return to glamping.

After a short rest, a music workshop will be organized for you, during which you will learn the history of local musical instruments, as well as try your hand at playing them.

In the evening, you will have a dinner with dishes of Karelian cuisine.

If you wish, you can also relax in the furako sauna or the Russian bath (for an additional fee, to be booked in advance).

You will spend the night in cozy hemispherical domes surrounded by a pine forest.

After breakfast at glamping, you will embark on a motorboat circuit to the Ladoga Skerries.

You will see the most picturesque places of the surrounding islands.

The capes of the island of Honkasalo, which are called the "Ladoga Fjords", the Aino reef mountain, the Chapaev Straits and much more.

The route includes landings and ascents to observation decks, which offer spectacular views of the panorama of the skerry region and open Ladoga.

A picnic lunch will be organized during the walk.

After returning to glamping and having a short rest, a Karelian evening awaits you: you will be told about the traditions and customs of Karelia, you will try your hand at solving Karelian riddles or take a quiz on the history of these places.

For an additional fee, you can order a unique service: floating in the Bay of Ladoga Skerries! Unforgettable sensations and unique photos are waiting for you (to be ordered in advance, a group of at least 4 people).

If the weather is good, you will spend the evening around a large communal campfire organized for you.

You can share your impressions, roast marshmallows, drink strong tea with Karelian herbs, play games or sing songs to the guitar.

After breakfast, a Karelian baking workshop will be organized for you.

The gate is the main symbol and brand of the Republic of Karelia.

In our master class, you will learn about the oldest ways of baking traditional gates, get acquainted with the gastronomic customs of ritual baking and create your own unique gate!

Before departure, we will organize a tea party with gates.

Then we will take motor boats to the pier and from there by minibus, and in 30-40 minutes we will reach the original museum dedicated to the peasant life of the Northern Ladoga region.

Many of the exhibits in the museum are made by the hands of the folk craftsman Sergei Volkov, and the tours are conducted by his charming wife.

You will be able to see a collection of beautiful stones and peasant clothes, old embroidery and children's toys.

You can touch objects with your hands, light a fire with a chair, or sit at a loom.

After the tour, we return to Sortavala, on the way we will stop and climb Mount Paaso, or rather the ancient settlement of Paasonvuori.

This is the place of power of the ancient Karelians, the special energy of this unusual hill, the unique views opening from it, literally fascinate.

You will learn the history of this unique place and enjoy the beautiful views, in the evening from the mountain there is a view of a retro steam train passing along the railway, you can take memorable photos.

And so we returned to Sortavala, where dinner will be waiting for us at a local cafe.

After dinner, you will have about an hour of free time before the evening train to Moscow.
