  • Day 1 - Arrival in Petrozavodsk. Sightseeing tour of the city. The ethnic village of Rubchoila. Master class on gate preparation

    08:00 Meeting at Petrozavodsk railway station.

    Welcome to Petrozavodsk, the capital of Karelia. The port of the five seas, located on the shores of Europe's second largest freshwater reservoir, Lake Onega.

    A real European city with a national Karelo-Finnish flavor, the same age as St. Petersburg, cozy, beautiful, with its own unique history. It was founded in 1703 by Peter I, as the city was founded by Catherine II in 1777.

    Sightseeing tour of Petrozavodsk.

    During the city tour of Petrozavodsk, you will learn the history of the streets, buildings, squares and parks of the city, get acquainted with more than three hundred years of the city's history.

    You will see the famous architectural ensemble of the Round Square, visit the Governor's Garden, Cathedral Square and the Alexander Nevsky Cathedral.

    Take a walk along the famous embankment of Lake Onega, a favorite place for recreation and walks for citizens and visitors of the city, located on the shores of the most beautiful Lake Onega.

    Paved with red granite and illuminated by lanterns, it gives the impression of an ancient street.

    There is a unique open-air museum on the Onega Embankment. Amazing sculptures — gifts from different cities and countries — that form a unique alley of fantastic images. Some of them are quite mysterious, and it is impossible to immediately guess what they represent.

    Next, we will go to the ethnic village of Rubchoila.

    11:00 Transfer to the ethnic village.

    Rubchoila (sometimes called Rubchoila) is located in the Pryazhinsky National District. Karelians have been settling in these places for centuries. Their descendants live here to this day. According to legend, the village was founded by three brothers who came here from the north in search of a better life.

    Three centuries ago, Rubchoila was a small village of 7 houses, but its population was prosperous. According to statistics, cattle were kept twice as much as in the surrounding villages.

    The villagers lived very richly, there was even their own tannery, and the chrome boots of the Rubchoil craftsmen were valued far beyond these places.

    On the way to the recreation center, we will stop at a grocery store.

    In your free time, you can:

    • rent a boat, kayak or catamaran and go for a walk on Sandal Island;
    • Rent gear and go fishing;
    • master the sapboard;
    • Go on a bike ride in the pine forest;
    • visit a sauna with a samovar on Karelian herbs;
    • rent sports equipment (volleyball, soccer, basketball; badminton; table tennis).

The tour provides accommodation at the Sandal Recreation center.

The cost of the tour for 1 person:

  • for single occupancy – 66,400 rubles.;
  • for double occupancy – 55,900 rubles.;
  • children under 12 years old inclusive in the main place – 51,900 rubles.;
  • children under 12 years old inclusive in an extra seat – 46,700 rubles.

Upon arrival, a deposit of 1,500 rubles per room is charged, which is refunded upon check-out.

Sandal Recreation Center 3 nights

The guest house has a large area consisting of 6 separate rooms (3 standard rooms, 3 Extended rooms), a kitchen, a large hall with a children's play area and a relaxation room. 

Each room has all the necessary amenities for a comfortable stay and relaxation: all rooms are equipped with bathrooms with a shower, toilet, sink, hairdryer and heated towel rail; large and comfortable rooms for two with comfortable beds, closets, dressers, TV, the possibility of installing extra beds, with balconies overlooking the lake or forest. 

The house is made entirely of wood, is very environmentally friendly and safe, has an autonomous sewage treatment plant with high biological purification, modern heating and lighting using energy-saving technologies, is equipped with video surveillance, fire and burglar alarms, fully complies with the highest modern quality standards.
