Ladoga summer is changeable and lively, like nature itself. It may be hot and sunny, or it may be cool and damp. The average daytime temperature in summer is +18...+22°C, at night it can reach +10°C. Rain can also be encountered, but it is usually short-lived.
From mid—June to mid-July is the season of white nights, when it is light almost around the clock. And in August, there are starry evenings and the Perseid stream: if you're lucky with the weather, you can watch shooting stars right from the tent.
The water temperature in Ladoga is cool (usually +14...+17°C), but to plunge into the heat is a real happiness. Even if not for long.
The secret to comfort is simple: check the forecast and take clothes for all occasions. You may need a raincoat, a warm sweatshirt, and a light panama hat on the same day. If they promise heat, don't forget sunscreen, light clothing, and a hat. If it gets cold, thermal underwear, fleece and hat will not be superfluous.
The only exception is hiking on May holidays. Spring on Ladoga can be harsh: night frosts are possible, and sometimes even snow. For the May holidays, you should bring a warm jacket, hat, gloves and a powder puff — then no bad weather will spoil the trip.
The detailed list of equipment is listed above — check it and the forecast. This way you will be ready for anything, and then any hike will be a pleasure.
